What did my candle smell like? 

So, I walked into Pier 1 Imports the other day just to pick up a few Christmas ornaments and ended up leaving with several candles instead. Go figure – – but, I literally couldn’t resist!! As soon as I saw their holiday decorative candles, that was it… I bought one of each to review.

I love Pier 1 candles… they aren’t the strongest compared to other brands but boy are they gorgeous and unique. I’ve bought many a candle just to decorate a room. That store is filled with so many great ideas and options. And the scents!! Oh my goodness…. a candle lover could get lost for hours smelling all their wares.

First up… Holiday Forest. Look how ADORABLE this candle is!!!! Look!! This is a container I’ll end up cleaning out and keeping once I finish it. The lid alone is worth keeping.

Here is the scent description for Holiday Forest:

“Scents of pine, cedar and balsam fir, all in a bright holiday fragrance that’s truly evergreen.”

Smelling the wax for the first time… it smelled exactly like a Christmas tree. Fresh pine and balsam fir blended together. I had my hubby smell it (my pine expert) and he loved it too. We have a fake tree so I’m all over burning Pine and Balsam fragrances to during the holidays and this candle was absolutely perfect. Time to see how it burns!

This candle was wide and double wicked so I took a chance and lit it up in a large bedroom to test out. Once lit, it took about 30 minutes to really start noticing the fragrance and once I did…. LOVED!! The aroma filled my entire bedroom and adjoining bathroom with fresh balsam and pine and the strength was just right. Not super headache strong but a nice and steady medium. I was very impressed.

My pine expert also loved it – – a lot! He even went so far to say it matched Gold Canyon’s version which as of today held the title for the best Christmas tree scent ever. Not anymore… we now have tie.

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8. It was pretty strong and I was burning this candle in a really large bedroom. Had I burned it in a medium sized room, it would be a 10, easy.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned pretty good. No soot with a clean and even burn from beginning to end. Both wicks burned perfect with little maintenance. A teeny bit of wax was left on the glass wall but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Closing to my review: 

This was a near perfect experience. The scent was beyond realistic, the strength was “just right” and it was a gorgeous candle to watch burning. Loved everything about it and plan on purchasing a few more to burn the rest of this month. They are so pretty!!

Highly recommend this candle to all you Christmas tree lovers…. In fact, you need to go get one – pronto! This candle is so festive too and an added bonus, it can easily be
re-purposed and used as a pretty decorative container.
