Candlefind Says

A honey-dripped floral scent that is good for the warmer months.

Pros

  • Super slow burn
  • Beautiful vessel, especially when candle is lit

Cons

  • Hard to reach a full wax melt pool

I love Trapp Fragrances as they are high quality, luxurious candles at an affordable price. I had not tried their small jar candles, so I thought I would try one in one of their newer fragrances – the Hibiscus Prosecco candle.

Packaging/Presentation

Trapp Hibiscus Prosecco Candle

Trapp takes great care even in their smallest candles. This little gem came in a gift box consistent with Trapp branding. The candle jar itself was an opaque white, with the white wax nestled inside. There was one wick, well-centered. The company and scent name were also on the outside of the jar. Overall, it was a very elegant appearance for such a small jar.

Authenticity

I had a hard time getting much on cold sniff, and it actually smelled a little fruity to me instead of floral.

Trapp

Once lit, it did start showing it’s true floral colors. The light, soft floral notes of a fresh hibiscus was surrounded by more slightly sweet notes. After it burned more, I realized it was the sweetness of the honey that was making this scent a little warm with a hint of sweet. Beautiful!

Scent Strength & Scent Throw

As this was a small candle, I used it in a powder room and then a small closet (attended, of course!) . The scent itself was light-mild and the throw was good in those small spaces. This is not their strongest candle fragrance (like Bob’s Flower Shoppe), but it is definitely a good one!

Trapp Hibiscus Prosecco Review

Burn Performance

Like most of my Trapp candles, this Hibiscus Prosecco candle had a slow, slow burn. There was a lot of wax on the sides for several hours. I’ve leared with Trapp candles, you need to let them burn for several hours at a time on the first burn – beyond the typical 3-4 hours. Watching it carefully, I had to let this candle burn almost 5 hours before I got a full wax melt pool. I never noticed any black sooting as I kept my wick pretty short.

Conclusion

Hibsicus Prosecco is one of the newer fragrances in the Trapp lineup, and it’s a good one. I could see this scent being perfect for the Spring/Summer, but also a good option for the cooler months with the addition of the honey-like notes. Trapp, you’ve done it again!

About Trapp

Trapp Fragrances was begun in the early 1990s by interior designer and florist Bob Trapp in Kansas City, Missouri. He sold the company to his friends at The Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Co. in 1995. Since that time, the Trapp Fragrances brand has grown and expanded to include several home fragrance items and several unique, luxury fragrances. Although Trapp Fragrances is considered a luxury brand, it is a relatively affordable luxury with products able to be found at many local retailers and online.
