First impression of Hazelnut from Swan Creek Candle Co:
There is simply something to be said for pure soy wax and bakery scents. To me, the soy brings out all the yumminess in anything bakery and Hazelnut from Swan Creek was no exception. These melts smelled good enough to eat!!
Here is the scent description I pulled from Swan Creek’s website:
The throw of pure hazelnuts will have you wanting to add this to your coffee- but please- don’t.
There is no much more to this scent than that. It smelled a vanilla cream and hazelnut loaded with sweetness. Very yummy and 100% edible.
I loved it! Now let’s see how these melts perform once in my melters.
Melting:
Each cube in Swan Creek’s drizzle melts are a good size so I went with one cube each in two electric melters in my great room. Once melting, it took minutes to melt and the aroma… it was interesting, up close with my nose up to the melter, the aroma smelled a little odd, a tad earthy perhaps, but once moving through the air, it spreads out and smelled like pure hazelnut cream. It was a delicious bakery and one I really enjoyed.
Strength – I would rate this fragrance an 8 out of 10 in a really large space. 10 in medium to smaller rooms. Not bad for soy wax.
In closing, I’ve decided I’m really loving Swan Creek’s drizzle melts and am preferring them to their candles. Why? They’re stronger and I can enjoy them in much bigger spaces. With their candles, I’m kind of stuck burning them in smaller rooms. With scented melts, the sky’s the limit.
Hazelnut is a great choice if you love creamy bakery scents. Definitely give this one a try when you’re in the mood for a sweet vanilla cream with a touch of warmth. I’ll for sure be picking this one up again.
Happy melting!
