Intro To My Wax Melt Review

I’ve heard alot about Happy Wax soy wax melts, but I had not tried them before. I was shopping on Amazon one day when my eyes ran across some Happy Wax products. Score! What a great treat to add to cart! I decided to try out the Cocktail Mix scent in their 3.6 ounce tin.

First Impressions of My Wax MeltHappy Wax Cocktail Mix

The order arrived in no time (this was pre-pandemic) and I was overjoyed. The little tin was small for the price, but it did make up for that with the cuteness factor. There were little bears all around the outside of the tin with the company name clearly displayed. The scent name was on a bear-shaped sticker on top of the lid. As this was a scent mix, the label also noted what scents were in the mix: Mango Daiquiri, Elderflower Gin, and Watermelon Mojito. Inside my tin were the…cutest…bears! They were like little gummy bears in three different shades of mostly pink/purple. The website shows some yellowish/golden bears included, but mine didn’t have that.

Cold sniff was fabulous. It was fruity and a bit tangy – these little guys were pretty well scented! Looking at the website’s scent description:

A selection of fragrances so divine it will make you want to raise a glass and embrace the weekend all week long! In the Cocktail Mix you will get an even mix of Elderflower GinWatermelon Mojito, and Mango Daiquiri! In this selection of refreshing fragrances you’ll detect notes of tropical, creamy sweetness bursting with notes of golden pineapple, ripe mango, and iced gin.

On cold sniff, the mango was what stood out the most to me. I couldn’t get a lot of the other notes, but the tanginess I’m assuming was from the pineapple.

I was unsure how to start out with these, as the individual bears were so tiny. I usually use two cubes of a clamshell to start out a new scent (or an entire tart cup), but gummy-sized bears? No clue! I ended up deciding to put six of the bears into my 24W melter in a large, open kitchen space.

Oh. My. Goodness. The scent was sooooo good! It was fruity and tangy and really pretty strong! I definitely still got more of the mango scent, but I got more of the tanginess from the pineapple as the wax continued to warm. Elderflower? I never smelled that or any creaminess. But this scent was fresh, tangy, and slightly sweet. I thought I could even smell a little bit of saltiness. Yum!

How Did My Wax Melt Perform?

I got a lot of scent out of the 6 bears. It completely filled the kitchen area and I could smell it in the air in the next room over. I was away from home (and feeling kind of lazy), so I left this in the wax melter for a couple of days. I was amazed at how highly scented these were! I usually pour out my wax melt hot, and when I poured this wax out, there was a lot of oily residue that was still in the bowl. I’m assuming I could have kept these little bears going strong for a while longer.

Closing To My Wax Melt Review

I really enjoyed my introduction to Happy Wax wax melts. Thoroughly enjoyed! I can’t wait to try more of their scents, but I would love to wait for a sale. $12.95 is a bit much for the little tin. I will say that I think I could have gotten away with far fewer bears in my melter. In the space I was in, I could have probably used 3 or 4 and gotten really good results. Knowing that they last such a long time, I think it would take a long time to go through one of the tins. That takes a little bit of the sting out of the initial price. Still, these particular wax melts get our Editor’s Choice badge!
