Introduction to my Easter scented melt review:
Spring has officially sprung! It’s finally time to open up that back door and step out into the sunshine. Hey, look, there’s the backyard. How we’ve missed our backyards. Let the snow melt. Let the grass grow. Bring Spring on the double. Let’s shake off the cold weather and start thinking about flowers and Easter…bunnies and eggs… and a whole world colored in pastel hues.
I know I’m getting carried away, but goodness, Spring is so rejuvenating and invigorating, it gives me the fever… Spring Fever! Opened windows, breezy fresh air, jelly beans…this season is absolutely energizing.
Because I was feeling such a surge of excitement for Spring, I was jazzed to collect and share some of my favorite scent finds for the season. I found spring blooms of Easter Lily and Gardenia, cut green grass, fresh squeezed orange juice, and of course, an Easter basket overflowing with sweet gooey marshmallows, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies. I found crème eggs, carrot cake, and even one little piggy.
I went scent crazy and tried bunches of melts for this review…way more than what is even listed. It got so out of hand, I was beginning to feel like an hippity hoppity Easter bunny. I gathered up all my Spring melting notes from the past few weeks and chose my very favorites of the scents I tried. Enjoy your own Spring Break and go hunt for some Easter scents. It’s time to breathe in those sweet, fresh Springtime fragrances.

Nene’s Kitchen Melts

This company has been a tried and true favorite of mine, so I knew I could count on finding some sweet treasures for Easter on the scent list. Sure enough, I found more than I could even fit in this big collection of Springtime melt scents. I actually had to narrow down my list, not because they didn’t fit in with my theme, but on the contrary, there were so many scents that did work for Spring. My box arrived smelling like it had been shipped directly from a real bakery. Anyone who has received an order from Nene’s Kitchen Melts knows what a pleasure it is to receive one of their packages in the mail. It’s the kind of sweet smelling package that my mail carrier always comments on.
Coconut Crème Easter Egg
“A fragrance that captures the smell of a gooey centered Cadbury egg.”
I can’t imagine an Easter basket without at least one Cadbury crème egg. I mean, without them, I think the entire planet would shut down and curl up into a collective fetal position. Luckily, this is not going to be that year. Crème eggs are in abundance, but I can’t eat them all, so I got the scent in a melt form to get me through the season’s sweet obsession.
I don’t remember coconut being in the original crème eggs although I’ve seen other brands touting coconut crème eggs and I’m all for it. This melt was a chocolate, coconut concoction done up in true Nene’s Kitchen Melts style. The cold sniff was mostly chocolate, but when the tart melted, there was a big blast of coconut, then it wafted back and forth between the two scent notes.
Nene’s is like the Willy Wonka of melt makers and Coconut Crème Easter Egg is yet another reason to crave the Cadbury.
Carrot Cake w/Cream Cheese Frosting (chunkie cup)
“Rich, moist carrot cake covered in a decadent cream cheese frosting.”
The Easter Bunny is on his way and he’s going to be hungry. We could give him carrots, but how about some rich carrot cake instead? Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is a good match for Easter time especially for all of us bakery scent fans. Nene’s Kitchen Melts version can be found in the Chunkie Cups style melt. It’s a spicy blend that really caught my attention when I walked in the room. The cream cheese frosting is prominent and I could picture a slice of cake with those little icing carrots on top.
Fresh Squeezed Oranges
“The sweet aroma of freshly squeezed oranges. This one is delicious!”
Let’s face it. With baskets filled with colored eggs and jelly beans, orange juice may be the only real fruit or vegetable my kids see on Easter morning, so I thought it was a good scent to include in this collection of Spring scents.
Fresh Squeezed Oranges is a fabulous scent. It’s smells authentic and on the sweet side. It had a lighter throw than what I expected from an orange scent which was actually just right for me. I put this one in the hallway and it was an unexpectedly fresh scent for that area of the house.
Southern Sunshine
“Juicy Florida tangerines fused with sweet Georgia peaches.”
What could be better than juicy tangerines? How about juicy tangerines mixed with sweet peaches? Brilliant! Florida and Georgia are the friendliest of neighbors and the fresh produce flows freely between these two Southern states. We often find Georgia peaches in our roadside produce stands, right there alongside Florida’s citrus jewels, so putting these two fragrances together is as natural as can be. I can smell the peach in Southern Sunshine mostly, but I do smell the tangerine as well a little less strong. Whether this is an Easter scent may be debatable, but it is certainly perfect for Spring and Summer and this combination of fragrances is a match made in heaven.
Good Day Sunshine
“An energizing blend of mandarin, kumquat, tangerine, and grapefruit with a hint of strawberry. A delectable way to start the day!”
It may seem like I’m on a citrus kick lately, and maybe it’s the beginning of one, but I chose this scent initially because of its name. After the grey skies of Winter, I think many of us are ready for some sunshine, and lots of it. I can’t even read the name Good Day Sunshine without thinking of the Beatles tune by the same name. It just makes me smile, so I had to include it here.
The scent itself was complex and interesting. It is mostly an orange type of fragrance, but with all of the different fruits in there, it’s kind of a citrus salad. It smelled like Jack Lalanne went crazy with his juicer and this was the result. Good Day Sunshine was fresh smelling and strong in my kitchen. It lasted about as long as it would take me to figure out how to use one of those juicer thingies.
Crosscreek Country Candles

Tarts, tarts, and more tarts. If you want them, here is where you can find them in an abundance of shapes and sizes. Crosscreek Country Candles has some Easter scents on the menu year round, which is good for us sugar fiends who see no reason to relegate Peeps to just one season. There are loads of cute shapes including bunnies and Easter eggs that Deana will whip up in any scent you choose. The scents are true and many are custom blends. Crosscreek Country Candles has built a solid reputation of quality products and friendly professional service. When I want to enable a newbie friend into the world of scent, this is one of the first places I recommend for all around great scents and consistent high quality melts.

factory and see how peeps are made or learn fun facts about them for instance… Did you know that enough Peeps are consumed at Easter to completely circle the Earth?This scent from Crosscreek Country Candles is for the peep purest. Is there such a person… a peep purest? This is a back to basics sugary, marshmallow fluff…I thought I detected a smidge of butter in there too at one point, but then it was gone and I couldn’t pick up on the butter note anymore. The scent was moderate and lasted a long time scenting up my bedroom nicely. It smells just like a Peep should smell.
Pink Peeps
“Marshmallow blended with pink sugar! A Crosscreek Country Candles Blend!”
Oh yeah. Pink Peeps… as if marshmallow peeps weren’t girly enough, throw the cottony candy Pink Sugar into the blend and it becomes Peeps in pink stilettos. Pink sugar and marshmallow! Do your teeth hurt just thinking about that blend? These two scents blend seamlessly in Pink Peeps, for a sweet treat sensation. This was pretty strong and easily filled my kitchen. I can see this scent working in my home year round… it’s just one of those universal scent combinations.
Grape Peeps
“A sweet blend of marshmallow and grape..a Crosscreek Country Candles blend.”
Grape peeps are like a purple psychedelic dream. There is way more grape than peep here but the grape is purple-tastic! Sweet, surgery grape candy. This is one that the kids will like, but I admit, I like it too. This scent reminded me of Laffy Taffy and I suddenly wanted sticky, chewy candy. It was pretty strong too, turning my kitchen into a candy store of historic proportions. I’m happy that I still have one Grape Peeps left for Easter week.
Sweet Tarts n Bubble Gum
“Bubble gum kicked up a notch with sassy sweet tart candies.”
Can we get any sweeter than Sweet Tarts n Bubble Gum? I have visions of huge piles of candy, or a gumball rainstorm! The cold sniff was all sweet tarts and when I first started melting it, I smelled sweet tarts the most, strong and tangy. By the time the melt was fully liquefied, I got the bubble gum scent as if someone had blown a giant bubblegum bubble and popped it right in my face. This scent is tailor made for the candy fiends. It was a sweet confectionary dream.
Bunny Patch
“Creamy orange pound cake layered with gooey marshmallow, so yummy good even Thumper approves.”
This description just made me laugh. Thumper approves? I can just picture that cute little rabbit thumping his big ol’ foot on the ground in excitement.
This is another of Crosscreek Country Candles custom blends, and it certainly works for springtime. I like orange scents in the Spring. The pound cake comes through at the scent’s base, with an interesting orange instead of a more standard lemon, and as if that wasn’t thumped up enough, there’s marshmallow stirred in the batter.
Bunny Patch smelled similar to an orange chiffon cake to my nose, but smoothed out by the marshmallow. Maybe marshmallow should be called marsh-mellow. Regardless, my nose was happy with this scent. It filled the room nicely for about half a day, which was just right for me.
Pretty Petals
“Hints of citrus accent this lush floral blend. A heart of peony is warmed with spicy dianthus and accented with fresh green foliage for an innocent bouquet. Rich base notes of orange flower and musk balance with vanilla for delicate sweetness.”
Not all Easter scents are peeps, chocolate and jelly beans. Easter welcomes Spring into the air with bouquets of floral scents too… I’m a floral scent girl from way back so I look to the Spring scent selections with much anticipation. Pretty Petals is two arms full of Spring blossoms. The description claims innocence and delicate sweetness, but I found this scent to be an explosion of blooms. There was nothing demure about this scent. It practically danced around the room singing “tra-la-la” and dropping petals all over the place.
Pretty Petals did have a certain sweetness, the peonies maybe, but the greens were much bolder and what I thought was a rose scent from across the room, was clearly a sweeter carnation scent up close. I enjoyed this scent very much. It was potent and it lasted a really long time.
Jelly Beans
“A sweet and fruity aroma… smells just like real jelly beans.”
I test drove the Jelly Beans scent after already trying the three custom Peeps scents from Crosscreek, and to me, the Jelly Beans scent was
somewhat less sweet than the marshmallow scents. The Jelly Beans fragrance was almost a spicy kind of sweet… similar to a gumdrop scent. I liked it because it smelled like Easter Sunday or more specifically, all the little candies inside the colored plastic Easter eggs that the bunny hides all around the yard for the kids to find. I am pleased that Crosscreek Country Candles has chosen to carry this one. It was a good fragrance for the season.
