What did my Guavapeel candle smell like?
I hit the most amazing sale at Bluewick several months ago and purchased one of every summer scent I wanted to review for Candlefind. With summer in full swing, I couldn’t resist. I’ve been a fan of Bluewick for years now and I love all their fruity scents! They’re amazing and fresh being the main ingredient which is essential to me when you’re trying to brighten your home with fragrance.
Bluewick is also pretty generous with the size of their candles, which I appreciate a lot. Luxury brands are usually around 7 to 8 ounces in size… Bluewicks average 14 to 17 ounces and to me, that’s definitely getting your money’s worth, especially for a luxury brand.
On to my candle.
Guavapeel caught my attention immediately and I knew I wanted to review it first. It could have had something to do with the bright orange/retro box it came in but I think the scent had a lot to do with it as well. It smelled AMAZING!!!!

Guava Fruit, Orange Peel & Malaysian Mango
Mmmmm! Not the most descriptive description but it’ll do. This fragrance smelled zesty and the first two word that comes to mind when I smell the wax? Fresh and citrusy!! I think I smell the orange peel the most. The aroma from the wax smelled more like a citrus zest than it did sweet. I loved it!! A lot! I’m hoping the sweetness from the guava and mango come to life once the candle is burning.
Time to find out!
I lit this candle in my large master bedroom to start out hoping it would hold its own there and happily… it did. It took a good hour to reach a full melt pool and soon after, the aroma of orange zest filled my bedroom. The overall scent remained the same… I smelled very little guava or mango. To me, this fragrance was all orange zest. I loved it but then I’m a huge fan of citrus scents.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle between a 6 and 7 in a large room. 8 in a medium size room and 10 in smaller rooms. I think it performed pretty well in a large room even though the scent more subtle. I still loved it.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned pretty well. It did struggle to reach a full melt pool with each lighting but it still held its own with little wax left on the glass wall. It also burned clean with no soot.
Closing to my review:
Loved this fragrance and will absolutely purchase it again. Imagine fresh oranges scenting your home! Such a clean aroma that put a smile on my face each time I walked into the room.
Bluewick offers some great sales so if you’re interested in this brand and are on a budget… I’d wait for one. I think I purchased this candle at 60% off. That’s CRAZY awesome!!
