Hi Everyone--been MIA since my last post on Tuesday--late that evening I got a call that my 91 yr old father had fallen in the street after attending a dinner honoring veterans. It was during a freak snowstorm (8" in a short time) and so I had to make an emergency trip to Iowa. He broke his shoulder so will be moving to my sister's home for a couple of months as she lives in a major city where he can get good therapy to restore the use of his arm. I will be going home on Monday. So, to anyone whose birthdays I missed--hope they were good ones. I haven't had any scents going up here but we've been so busy I have hardly noticed. Just wanted to check in with you all. Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Trep, I hope your Dad heals quickly. Icy streets are such a hazard to the elderly no matter how careful they are when walking.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd pop in and see what yall are up to. I miss coming here but am so busy with life right now....haven't ordered either for a LOOONG time...too long but my stash is dwindling nicely now...times are tough here so every penny saved.........

 

This morning I am melting All Hallow's Eve Cake from oh I can't think of her name....she just recently sold the business..she had the geographic scents....darn it's been too long since I bought something!!!

I'm melting LSC Russian Rainbow Tea. The scent description says "Sweet Fruit Slices and spicy Black Tea" but I say "A Heavenly Experience for the Nose."

Good afternoon...

 

trep, hope your dad has a speedy recovery...you take care friend...I was wondering where you were.

 

I am melting CFTKR Vanilla Pine Cones and also have Slatkin's Marshmallow Fireside burning...the combination smells great!

 

DS#2 has a hockey tournament this weekend, so I won't be around much...one game tonight, two games tomorrow and one game on Sunday. I may be able to check in late in the evenings.

trep: I hope your Dad heals up quickly and willregain use of his shoulder and arm very soon. My Mom has finally healed up from a bad humerous break late last spring. I'm waiting and looking for some sales from possibly Carol, Can-do, LSC and I'm wanting to try Cozy Cottage. Maybe some will come through for me. This afternoon I'm melting LSC Sticky bread and it really smells great in my LR. I think the kitchen cabinets will be painted and hung by the end of the weekend. This makes me a happier gal. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We had our first snow flurries last night, so 'tis the season...almost.

Had to dump out the omg and ol pumpkin spice and gingerbread cookie thing.Oh my goodness it was .

Added biscuits and honey by lsc and all I smell is honey from it.And then maple latte from cbv died so now its vanilla abricot by lol.

 

 

I noticed while going thru my stash I was hanging onto SH and CBV,because I've heard great things about them. And plus the fact there are not that many really great sales with them. The few tarts I have melted from these two places I would have to say I am not all that impressed with them like other vendors. Just had to share.

Sweet - how is the Glade candle?

 

Tonight I am burning an Olive Oil candle in Fuji Apple. It is the first one I have tried.

 

 

The candle seems to be burning nicely - not a strong scent, but I can smell it when I am near.

Thanks,everyone, for the well wishes and prayers for my dad(Dwain)--he is a real trouper, for sure. He is in a lot of pain but he is determined to get better. My sister had to go into work today so left here yesterday afternoon and she and my brother in law will be back tomorrow to take him out to their place. Monday he will see the specialist and get started on his therapy. One bright side is that he will be around his two little great grand kids whom he adores so he will enjoy getting to see more of them.

Sweet - how is the Glade candle?

Debra - It's a good scent. I had it burning in the LR and that's too large for a small jar. It does better in a smaller room.

What company is your olive oil candle from? Have a link?

 

One bright side is that he will be around his two little great grand kids whom he adores so he will enjoy getting to see more of them.

Trep - that's a good reminder for us to look for the treasure in the trial. Safe travels home 4 U!

Katz - finishing the cabinets just in time for Thanksgiving! I've been checking Carol's store, too. Trying not to sound whin-ey , but I kinda wish she wouldn't post on FB what new things she's putting in her store every day. By the time I can look in the evening all her FB fans have gobbled up all the new. Ok, no way around it, that did sound whine-y.

 

I'm melting Nene's Honey Buttered Maple Oats. I'm not a big fan of either honey or maple, but it doesn't smell like those to me, it's a good comfort type scent.
