Scents while Cooking

What scents work well in your kitchen when you are cooking? Do you have any go-to choices?

 

Apple scents work well here. What are some others?

I usually go with something citrus during the summer months. In the winter, I'll choose something spicy or cinnamon like Amish Harvest. I can see apple working well, too. Will have to try that the next time my wax is competing with my cooking. :?

I find that citrus or herbal scents work nicely when I am cooking main dishes, and then it's a simple matter to find a complementary scent when baking, of course. Often, I just unplug my melter and light an unscented or lightly scented candle if it looks like smells are going to clash.

 

I love plugging in my crock pot for a lazy evening's meal, but find that it really limits what scents I can melt until later after dinner. :)

Lemon, citrus sounds like it would work great. Most of my lemon scents have cake in them too. I don't know.

Great topic Jules! For me, nothing works well until after my cooking smells are gone. I use a lemon scented or grapefruit scented candle (not bakery)AFTER the cooking smells are gone to clear the air.

I do not usually have melts going while cooking dinner. If I have a candle going it is usually an unscented candle or a mildly scented candle. I tend to light candles after dinner for the evening. :)
