November's Feast of Scents

Recommended Posts

Thank you Maggie, and thank you Vets and families for your service.

I am experiencing a crisis that made me jump on the board during work hours!!! Our new employee "thinks" that fragrance triggers her asthma! She can not smell, she says, due to polyps in her nose - but is afraid if we melt she will get ill...

As you can imagine, the scentaholics here (and I am proud to say I have converted many) are sweating and getting tremors! Not sure how to verify this - we don't want to make her ill.

What a conundrum.

Scent for today: nuthin'. [smilie=bagover]

Lana... Upside down pear gingerbread cake sounds delicious! I am thinking I might have to place an LOL order this weekend, there are just too many new scents I have to try. The kids put in my last AMS Tahitian Waterfall, I am not a huge fan, but they really like it, so I will live.

Maggie, thanks for the lovely poem.

Schools all around us are closed today in observance of Veterans Day, so I am enjoying the day off. I've already called my dad to thank him for his dedicated service and sacrifice during WWII.

I am tidying up around the house today so I thought I should have a melt going in every room I'm spending time in. 4u2ap3b.gif

Melting:

Can-Do - Country Apple in the FR

CFTKR - Cinnamon Apple Strudel in the LR

BG - All American Apple Pie in the MBR (This one is so strong, I have to melt it in my 12w electric melter or it will chase us out of the house.)

Denny,

It sounds like you are having a wonderful Applelicious Autumn day!The_Apple_by_phillyzero.gif

Along with my Mrs. Claus Cookies, I'm burning Slatkin's Autumn Apple. My DH said it smells like I'm baking an apple pie.pie_by_captian_pikachu.gif

That is a very nice poem Maggie. Thank you for sharing it.

debra, oh no! No melting? I'm not sure if fragrance triggers asthma. Maybe allergies? My DH has asthma which he takes medication for, but he has no problems with candles or tarts. You wouldn't want to make the new employee ill, but what a difficult decision. Sounds like she isn't too sure herself.

oh no Debra. I know it has to be terrible to have scents trigger asthma attacks. I worked with a woman who could never experience perfume, scented deodorants, lotions, nothing. So thankful I have none of those allergies or sensitive skin. I went to a doctor once(ear, nose, throat specialist) and when making the appt., the receptionist told you not to wear any scent whatsoever. NO DEODORANT, NO FABRIC SOFTENER IN YOUR CLOTHES, nothing! yes, they specifically mentioned the deodorant and fabric softener. to further make their point, they immediately sent you out a letter with the above info.

I've been resisting the temptation of any more sales, but I may have to pay haley a visit. I see that she always has free shipping too.

right now I'm melting Can-do Whipped Cream and Honeydew. OMG!! I can't remember who it was that mentioned this on their list but this is sooooo delectable. I'm not a fruity type person but there's something about that scent mixed with the cream that just makes it out of this world...and it is so strong! it was only half melted and I could smell it all the way back in the bedroom. I just came in the downstairs door to the building and could faintly smell it! but it is not one you have to turn off either. Just oh so good. a definite reorder for sure.

Debra, that's a bummer about the scent allergied new hire. Your situation sounds dire. How disappointing for everyone already working there.

Tonight's scentgasm is from Crosscreek - Monster Munch.
