  1. We refer to this recipe as "Tasty Broccoli." It's a staple recipe for us because it is so delicious! This is an awesome meatloaf recipe which adds in zucchini and peppers. I bet you could add in other veggies too. I absolutely love the zucchini in it. Here's my favorite recipe for Sloppy Joes. It came from one of my mother's Weight Watcher cookbooks, but I don't remember which one. It's so good and you barely taste that there are carrots, celery, peppers and onions in the mix. Sloppy Joes Make 4 servings 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp olive oil 1 cup onion, finely chopped 1/3 cup celery, finely chopped ½ cup carrot, finely chopped 1/3 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped ½ tsp oregano leaves ½ tsp thyme leaves 15 oz extra lean ground beef or turkey 1 cup canned chopped plum tomatoes with juice 2 Tbsp tomato paste 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp red wine vinegar ¼ tsp hot pepper sauce salt and pepper to taste 4 hamburger rolls (2 oz) In medium saucepan, heat oil; add onions, celery, carrot, and bell pepper. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until onions are translucent, about 10-12 minutes. Add oregano, thyme, and beef, breaking up beef with wooden spoon. Sauté until beef is no longer pink, 3-4 minutes. Combine tomatoes with juice and tomato paste, and add to beef mixture. Cook for 1 minute. Add Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper; bring to boil, lower heat, and simmer for ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on rolls.
  2. Just melting Sweet Gingerbread Goodies from LunaBleu this evening. It was awesome, not too spicy but well-balanced with the bakery notes.
  3. Katz - Congrats! Maurie - Sorry to hear about your friend. At least she can be in a comfortable, familiar place surrounded by people who love her. Melting YC Farmers Market and LB Sweet Gingerbread Goodies. Both are strong and smell awesome!
  4. Finally got some time to sit down at the computer and read the forums...all of your scents sound awesome. I got to raid the Yankee Candle $1 tart sale this weekend and ended up with a bunch of fall scents. I'm excited to try all of them. Currently melting Pomegranate Cider. It just started melting so not much scent yet, but the cold sniff was awesome.
  5. Thanks everyone! Wedding stuff has been a whirlwind for about the past 6 months even though we've been planning for over two years. Despite every effort to get planning done as far ahead as possible, there are always more meetings with the different vendors, more details to decide on (do they really matter any ways?) and more stuff to do. I'm hoping that the 2 and a half weeks left go by as fast as possible just to get everything over and done with. Melting YC Spiced Orange. Not overly thrilled with it so I may switch it out soon. The throw is great, but the scent is weird.
  6. Melting Green Apple and Cinnamon from CFTKR. I'm not sure I like it as much as the red apple style scents but it is nice for now. It is better than the previous tart, LunaBleu Zen Tea. That one smelled like a sweet perfume that would have been something I might wear as a fragrance, but not something I wanted my apartment to smell like.
  7. Thanks for the congrats! The wedding is October 8th. My fiancé and I have been engaged for over 2 years and together for close to 8 years so we are looking forward to finally making things official. Currently melting LB Blood Orange Cocomilk and Blue Moon Amaretto. The Blood Orange Cocomilk was going strong for a while, but lost the coconut/vanilla part of the scent after a few hours. The orange part that is left still smells great, but not as good as it did with the hints of coconut. The Amaretto is nice, but lighter than I had hoped. I think the Blood Orange Cocomilk was overwhelming it even though the melters are in different rooms.
  8. I had wedding shower number 2 today with my fiance's family and surprisingly ended up with a new tart warmer out of it! One of my soon-to-be mother-in-law's friends gave me a simple black tart warmer (a two-piece one with a bulb) and breakaway tarts in Vanilla Bean and Jamaica Me Crazy. The warmer was from Candle Warmers, Etc. and the tarts were from Jamie Clair Candles. It looks like both were from the same company based on the website that was on the box, but I hadn't heard of either one before. I have the Vanilla Bean melting now and it smells great! I'm also melting CFTKR Spiced Cider and Chestnuts. It's been going all day and still has an awesome throw.
  9. Melting Gingerbread Marshmallow from LunaBleu. I've been really enjoying my LunaBleu order. Everything so far as been top notch.
  10. Melting CFTKR Apple Zucchini Bread, which is absolutely amazing, and burning two small candles from LOL in Pearamel and Vanilla Champange. I am really loving all of the tarts in the Zucchini Bread Sampler from CFTKR. I liked them enough that I gave my soon-to-be mother-in-law the plain Zucchini Bread tart so she could smell how awesome they are too!
  11. Melting Apricot Cream from Blue Moon. It's a pleasant fruity scent that isn't too overly sweet. I like it so far.
  12. I spent all day at my father's house yesterday at a family barbeque. I did manage to find a YC jar in Gingersnaps hiding in his bathroom so I had that burning to make at least one room smell pretty. It was rather old, but still smelled nice. Today I am melting CFTKR Powdered Sugar Vanilla Buttercream, which is amazing, and burning Haley's 7 Up Pound Cake, which is also really good.
  13. I am melting Cinnamon Nutmeg, fresh out of my package from CFTKR. It's more of a bakery spice, but not overly sweet. I like it.
  14. I am back from a long weekend (girls only camping trip in the Finger Lakes) and can melt good smells once more. I did manage to get a few of the new Yankee Candle tarts during the sale before we went on the trip. Apple Cider is so good that I wish I had the time to go back and get more while they were still on sale. I just started melting CFTKR Luscious Vanilla.
  15. Gail - My one order with Haley's was the opposite of yours! The only tart that had a great throw was the one tart I got in palm wax. Though a few of the standard tart cups had decent throws for me, a majority were medium to lightly scented. I guess it all depends on the melter and the location. Melted CFTKR Perfect Peach for a bit. It was nice, a very true peach scent, but I got bored and switched to CFTKR Vanilla Bliss. Love it!
