  1. Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes, everyone! You guys are so great! Today I have been experimenting with melting a combo of half Lime Cilantro and half Citrus Cilantro by Haleys. I love the scent combination (which is actually a little closer to Pier 1 Citrus Cilantro, I think) but one of the tarts was in palm wax and the other in soy, so the wax looks pretty funky when hardened. I'm guessing those two types of wax were never meant to meet up together in a melter!
  2. I woke up to find freezing temps and snow on the ground this morning! Mid May??? I was so enjoying spring. I've got a Darcy & David candle burning in English Ivy and Hydrangea. (Nice throw and melt pool for an inexpensive brand found on sale at Hobby Lobby- will try more of this brand!) And the last of my wisteria tart from Haley's is still going strong in my melter.
  3. Sounds like you have caught the wax bug! Welcome!
  4. BigRed: Out of curiosity, how "elderly" were these older tarts? I'm starting to wonder if I had better use up ones I bought last year before I get more. Sorry yours croaked! :P Melting CCCC Stormwatch this afternoon.
  5. Going to those craft shows sounds like lots of fun! I hope you have just as much fun on this site. Welcome!
  6. Glad everything is working now and you can hang out with us!
  7. So glad you joined the forum and have discovered the wonderful world of melts! I bet you won't regret ordering the three melters. I have several different types and enjoy using them all. I'm a fan of CCCC and CBV too! Welcome!
  8. I sure wish I could send all of you folks back East some of our gorgeous, Colorado Front Range sunshine and warmth today! I have a terrible cold and can't smell a blessed thing, but I do have a large, rose scented, oval Colonial Candle burning for ambience. At least I can sort of remember what it smells like! :?
  9. So glad you have joined us! Welcome! :? Years ago, I started out with Yankee Candles, got hooked on their tarts, and didn't even really think to try much else until joining the forum. I hope you'll have as much fun as I am branching out and exploring new wax possibilities!
  10. Tonight, I'm melting Pink Sugar, by Haley's. Yumm!
  11. I melted YC Ocean Blossom yesterday afternoon and left my melter on all night. I was about to change out tarts but noticed that the Ocean Blossom tart is still quite fragrant even now, so I guess I will keep it going! So sorry to hear of the health difficulties and weather challenges of late. Best wishes to all who are coping!
  12. Hi June, I first discovered the wonderful world of candles at YC, too. If lots of candles to choose from at YC was great, then finding endless other "stores" online was even better! How exciting that you are here, and welcome!
  13. Alas, what a wicked web we weave when it is a leprechaun we intend to deceive! That poor little leprechaun spent the next few days daydreaming about how he would spend his Ebay profits, even going so far as to book a long dreamed of trip to Ireland on Travelocity. But one afternoon, Sean the Leprechaun overheard Jack talking on a phone call to the folks at the Yankee Candle headquarters in Deerfield, Mass. Sean couldn't believe his pointy little ears when he overheard Jack making arrangements for his wife, Jane, to be surprised with a private, VIP factory tour and $500 YC shopping spree for their tenth wedding anniversary next month! Could it be that Jack's pretense of being tired of all Jane's candles was only a ruse? It was not lost on Sean that Jack's "generous" venture was to be funded with the very candles Sean stole from Jane! The nerve of that man! Sean decided it was time that Jack tasted a dose of his own medicine! For the next week, Sean sneaked various melts out of the hidden stash and melted them together in in nauseating combinations, such as Ocean Breeze with Pralines and Cream. Jack search high and low, but could not find where Sean the Leprechaun had stashed the tart burner. __________________________________
  14. Jack further calmed all the children down by burning a soothing, spa fragrance wax tart and explained to them that when they saw such monsterous images they needed to just plug their ears, close their eyes and say . _____________________________
  15. Red Velvet Cake from Haley's Heavenly Scents is in my melter right now. Stay safe this evening, Trep! I guess we are officially into severe storm season in the Midwest and in the Tornado Alley area. Here in Colorado we don't really come under the gun until early June.
  16. How fun to have another guy on the forum! Welcome!!!
  17. As I am catching up on some household chores this afternoon, I have CBV Apricot Freesia burning in the living room (suprisingly good throw for such a delicate scent!) and my medium, two-wick YC tumbler in Early Sunrise burning in the powder room. I gave up burning this particular YC candle in larger spaces because it just doesn't throw well, but it is perfectly filling this smaller room. Yummm!
  18. I was just thinking that green is certainly the major theme for celebrating St. Patrick's Day, but what scents best correspond to this color and would be perfect for celebrating the Luck of the Irish? I do already have a green candle from CBV called "Breath of Ireland" that seems perfect for the occasion! Any other ideas?
  19. You are in for a great time, Heather! Have fun, and welcome!
  20. Wow-- five or six melters going each day? How fun! You definitely sound like a fellow fragrance fanatic. So glad you are here. Welcome!
  21. How exciting to have you join us from across the pond! I have been to Austria (though not Vienna specifically) and was just charmed by your beautiful country! Welcome!
  22. How exciting that you are about to be married! Welcome, Bree!
  23. Glad to have you back on board! :P
  24. Hi Megan, not too long ago I ordered a candle sampler pack from CBV to try them out and I am really enjoying my order too! I agree, there is just something so comforting and cozy about having a nice candle burning. I look forward to hearing more from you-- Welcome!
