  1. I was just thinking this morning that I ought to go ahead and pull out my little collection of Valentine's Day decorations. And that got me in the mood to light my Hearts and Flowers YC classic candle. It smells really good but it doesn't seem to be throwing very much yet.
  2. First thing I did this morning was light a candle and turn on my tart warmer! I'm burning Haley's Coconut Hibiscus. I guess I am dreaming of the tropics! [smilie=th_oregonian_mornincoffee]
  3. Welcome! I know what you mean about the comfort and fun of having a great scented candle burning. Wax has turned into a full fledged hobby for me. Have fun!
  4. Hi, Trish! Welcome to the world of wax accumulation and hoarding. Glad you are here!
  5. I think you will definitely find some wonderful suggestions and tips here on the forum, and we look forward to your suggestions, too! Welcome!
  6. So glad you joined the fun! I happen to also live in Aurora, CO and am discovering that there are quite a few Colorado connections here on the forums. How fun!
  7. I guess I have to confess I was also among those who assumed you were talking about edible fiber. I thought, "Wow, she must be really healthy!" What fun hobbies you are into! Welcome!
  8. Glad to hear that you are back! Welcome!
  9. It's snowing like crazy out, so I got in the mood for YC Sparkling Snow. I have the two-wick, medium tumbler burning downstairs and a tart in the same scent going upstairs. The kids walked in from school earlier and immediately remarked about how fresh it smells inside.
  10. Peach Jam Cheesecake from Cross Creek Country Candles
  11. I'm new here too, Cajunbandmom. Such fun! Welcome!
  12. I love anything to do with the ocean, especially if it involves a candle! :) I really like the soft, fresh scent of Ocean Water from YC, and I am looking for comparable scents in other lines that don't smell too much like mens cologne, if that makes any sense. I have a candle from Haley's in Sea Breeze, and I like it ok but, here again, it smells a little more detergent-like or cologne-like to me than "ocean" or the sea. Any suggestions for me as well? Thanks!
  13. I guess I am one of those new faces you haven't met yet. Great to meet you!
  14. Hi, Tom, glad you found us! I, too, enjoy enhancing my "fort" with candlelight most all the time. It's an awesome hobby. Your motorcycle sounds fun!
  15. I've got Rocky Mountain Christmas from Cross Creek Country Candles in my electric melter left over from yesterday afternoon, and it still smells spicy and great. And then I have a Holly Berry candle from YC going in my living room.
  16. Hi, Stacy! I'm new here too. Hope you have as much fun as I am!
  17. Glad you are on board! I am rather new here, too. Such fun!
  18. I'm burning my YC Autumn Leaves candle, longing for all the beautiful fall colors we had here in Colorado at the first of Oct before an early hard freeze turned most of the leaves yet to fall sort of a dingy, greenish grey color. And all the beautiful golds and reds are sort of crispy and brown now. Total bummer!
  19. I always have to have pumpkins scents burning in the fall! Right now I have Haley's pumpkin pie spice melt in my little electric warmer, and you can smell it all over the house!
  20. I'm about to call it a night (getting sleepy) but am burning and enjoying the very last of my Woodwick Applewood candle. The crackling sound it makes (like a fireplace) is very relaxing and if fragrances my whole livingroom beautifully.
  21. Mmmmm!!! All your suggestions are making me hungry! Thank you! I'm especially intrigued by the avocado/cilantro one because I also happen to love avocados. I haven't tried Haley's pineapple cilantro blend yet, but I have smelled that combination before and it is truly yummy. You wouldn't think that cilantro would go with pineapple, but somehow it really mellows out the tartness of the pineapple nicely. In fact, I just bought a Yankee Candle tart in pineapple cilantro to try out. Somewhere online (can't remember where) I saw that Woodwick candles will be coming out with a new "naturals" or "eco" line and that cilantro lime is one of the scents available. Has anyone sniffed or burned one of these yet?
  22. Thank you so much everyone for the warm welcome!!! My kids and I have been battling the H1N1 virus for the past few days, so this has been a real day brightener! I would have to say the worst part of the virus has been that it has messed up smelling enjoyment of my melts and candles.
  23. Hi, everyone! I discovered this site last spring and have been enjoying reading all the reviews and information ever since. It was a relief to find out that other people think lots about candles and quickly run out of storage room for them, too! I long ago decided to just call my being into candles and home fragrance a "hobby". At least that is what I tell myself to justify having so many melts, candles and oils on hand at any one time. Luckily, my husband is reasonably supportive of my hobby and enjoys many of the scents I burn. My kids usually roll their eyes impatiently whenever I look at candles, so I just about fell over when they asked me to buy them some scented votives last month! I started out being captivated by the huge variety of fragrances at Yankee Candle some years ago, and am now trying out other brands that aren't quite so spendy. But I've quickly discovered that you have to be careful about things like off-center wicks, tunneling and low flame. I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you!
