Happy Halloween! Here's hoping it's all treats and no tricks for you and yours. I'm melting Can-Do's Aunt Gladys' Gingerbread. So good! Thinking of all of those affected by Sandy... Gail
-
Hi wax buddies! Yesterday I had Can-Do's Birdy's Baklava going and today it's Can-Do's Cathy's Cast Iron Cookies. Nooo, I'm not converting to bakery, but there are a few I enjoy, mostly from Donna. Gail

That's great, Jules. Thanks for the p0rn, it all looks yummy! Gail

Today I wore Haus of Gloi's pumpkin butter for the first time. The scent was Lemon Curd and Honeysuckle. Ohhhhhh, be still my heart! This stuff is divine! The texture is creamy, and very moisturizing. It's a teeny bit oily when it first goes on, but absorbs quickly. Perfect for this dry desert climate. The scent is so good I have to remind myself to act normal in public because, well, it looks a little weird to be sniffing my forearm in a restaurant. Oh yes, I definitely see more HoG pumpkin butter in my future. Gail

Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry. Offering my sincerest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your beloved dad. Gail

Howdy, howdy! Today I'm melting Can-Do's Red Currant and Thyme Tea. It's not real strong but it's a pretty, somewhat complex blend. I like it! Donna's description says, "Top notes of lemon-lime, berry and bergamot, middle-note of thyme, lavender and cassis, and a soft white musk base note." Hope everybody has a great Friday! Gail

Gosh, Katz, I'm no help but I sure hope your DS gets some relief. Poor guy. I was going to hike in the mountains today but the weather report says thunderstorms and maybe snow. Uh, gee-man-ee! My BFFs and I nixed our plan. Nobody wants to be on the edge of a mountainside during lightning or snow. Such smart women! Easing my disappointment with Haley's Trick or Treat. Gail
-
Howdy, wax friends! I'm melting Frosted Pumpkin from Haley's today. No frost on the ol' pumpkin around here. Our lows are in the mid-fifties. Gail
-
I'm melting Haley's Pleasingly Pumpkin. Oh so nice! Happy weekend, everybody! Gail

I received my very first order of Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Butters. TAT was really fast, packaging is fabulous and very upscale. I love it! I haven't tried the butters themselves yet, but the scents are all out of this world! All three of them are and that's worth repeating! They're Honeysuckle Lemon Curd, Lavender Sugar, and Imp (passion fruit, apricots, pink grapefruit, mimosa blooms). Plus I got a free giftie of perfume oil in Absinthe. It's not one I'd order from the scent description but it's soooo beautiful and complex and I can't stop sniffing it! The description is: "Hauntingly herbal. Wormwood and anise swim in a creamy green sea of lemon balm, green lemon, soft glowing mints, a hefty lump of sugar and the tiniest drop of suggestive deep green moss." I'm one happy gal! Gail

Shortygal, what a creative thread title. I love it! Laurie, I've been thinking of you. I'm so sorry, friend. I'm melting Haley's Caramel Vanilla. Gail

Scents to remember in the month of September

Laurie, I'm so sorry about Tippi. I'm melting Can-Do Mulberry today. Really good one, but I'm not sure if DH would agree. He's not home though, so... I just ordered 25 yards of decorator fabric. Gonna spruce up my living room windows. Anybody else sew? Have a wonderful weekend, friends! Gail -

Happy Labor Day, friends! I hope there's very little Labor for everybody, but lots of Leisure and Fun! Great thread title, Trep! I'm melting a fall scent on this gorgeous, somewhat cool morning - Country Store from Can-Do. Fall scents are somehow sooooo satisfying! Gail -
Hi there, wax buddies. I'm melting Haley's Vanilla Spectacular today. This 'un doesn't need a description or a review. Name says it all! Gail
-
Sending good thoughts to all of Florida! Aria, glad you had such a good time, and congrats to your DS! I'm melting Can-Do's Butt Naked today. Gail
-
everybody! Aria, thanks for sharing Ozzy's picture. What a darling, smoochable little guy he is! Our house guest went back home to Iowa. DH and he had an awesome visit, and now it's my turn for fun. Time for a wax fiesta all morning, noon, and night! First up is Can-Do's Jamaica Me Crazy. Is this one totally divine, or is it just that I've missed my melting so much? A little of each, methinks. Have a terrific Tuesday, friends! Gail
-
Trep, you must be in heaven with those cooler temps! What a relief, eh? Wow, Blue Gecko... I loved Deidre's products, packaging, and CS. She was such a pro! I'm sad to report that I haven't melted or burned a thing this past week. Okay, the emotie might be a tad - just a tad - melodramatic. This one depicts my state of mind more accurately. --->> My DH's BFF is here visiting from Iowa. These guys are old Viet Nam buddies and have been sidekicks for nearly 50 years. He's a really nice guy but has some allergies. Ah well, I'll have to get my scent fix vicariously by reading through our lovely forum. Gail

Great thread title, Sweet! Terrific to see you both back here, Stella and Laurie. Welcome, Jennifer! I'm melting Can-Do's Coco Mint Frost. I'm sure treatin' myself well this mornin', I must say! Gail

Trep, my gosh, fires sure are scary! We get 'em here sometimes and they're just awful. That's some horrid temps you guys are enduring. Did they break any records? Fingers crossed for the mercury to plummet! everyone for the sweet words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video because, well, that's what it's all about! Debra, thanks. To me, it's not hard work at all to train a dog. It's pure joy, and Hobbit would agree. He's 10 1/2 now and the silly boy would train for hours if I'd keep going. No, eye contact isn't a complex behavior to teach. There are steps you can take to get it, but I simply click (or say "Yes!") whenever the dog looks at me, then I immediately deliver a cookie. Aria, you're so funny - and right! Have fun with your little Ozzy! Thanks again, everyone, and my apologies for hijacking our SOTD thread. I'm enjoying Can-Do's Vanilla Butter Fudge again today. Gail

You caught that, did ya, ladies? Clever girls, you! Noooo, I don't think I'm sliding over to the bakery side anytime soon, although there are a few that I enjoy. Oooo, OOOO, I agree Maggie. Coco-Mint Frost is Sweet, your memory is amazing and the way you focus on others is no doubt indicative of your thoughtful soul. Thanks for remembering. We celebrated my dog club's 20th anniversary a couple weeks ago. It was a lot of work but, oh my goodness, it was beyond wonderful in every way, if I do say so myself! Everyone just loved it. Now I'm on to chairing a new committee and we're planning some great events with guest speakers such as a canine cancer awareness seminar, dog safety issues, how to clicker train, help for your aggressive dog workshop, etc. My head's spinning and my poor melter has been feeling ignored. I still LOVE Candlefind and wish I could spend more time here, but my heart has always truly belonged to the doggies. Just for fun, if anyone wants to see it, here's a short video (2.2 minutes) of me and my dog Hobbit doing Rally Obedience. Hope it makes you smile! Happy melting, waxie friends! Gail

Happy weekend, everybody! I'm melting Can-Do's Vanilla Butter Fudge today. Gail

Stay cool, everybody! I'm melting a freebie from Can-Do, Blackberry Sage. I doubt I'd ever order this one based on the name, but oh my, it's soooooo good! Don't you love it when that happens? Gail
