  1. Melting YC Cranberry Chutney this evening. This doesn't remind me of Christmas at all; just a nice, tart cranberry fragrance.
  2. That's good to know that Beach Walk is a more authentic "beach" scent rather than a suntan lotion scent. That's one reason I tend to not try those type of fragrances; most of them do smell like suntan lotion, which I don't like at all. We have a Bed, Bath & Beyond that just opened near us so I think I'll print out a 20% coupon and go buy some Beach Walk tarts. My mom gave me a lighthouse bulb burner for Christmas so I'll have the whole nautical/beach theme going on. :)
  3. Melting Country Grove from what used to be Snowtop. Very strong and long lasting. My order from Angie's is going out today. Can't wait to get it. Haven't heard anything about my order from Bella's and I placed it several days ago. Everyone is happily melting Bella's tarts so I'm anxious to get mine. I will definitely have to check out YC Beach Walk. I have a nautical themed powder room and "Beach Walk" just sounds like it would compliment a room with sail boats and lighthouses. :) Does anyone else choose scents based on how a room is decorated?
  4. Mom- Angie's Country Candles. Right now she has a great sale on grubby melts (ends Friday). Buy one get one free! I've never ordered from her before, but her scent list is very impressive (lots of spicy, bakery scents-my favorite) and I couldn't resist the sale. I also get a free 4 oz. candle for mentioning Candlefind and she has flat rate shipping. Oh, and so far I'm really impressed with customer service. I've e-mailed her several times with questions and she's been very prompt and helpful.
  5. Melting Cedar and Saffron from CHC. Nice scent, but not much of a throw. I will probably change it out soon. I'm really looking forward to my order from Angie's. Even more so since reading Christina's review.
  6. Happy New Year all you candle lovers! I started melting Amish Harvest last night and it's still going strong this morning. It's from my small stash I still have from my last order of what used to be Snowtop Candles. I also have Strawberry and Champagne, Mom. ;) I may have to start it this evening after Amish Harvest wears off.
  7. I have Egg Nog melting upstairs in the loft. I haven't decided what to burn downstairs yet. Right now I'm trying out a candle plate warmer that I picked up at Bed, Bath & Beyond yesterday. I wanted a way to use up the few Yankee jar candles I have left, but so far I am not impressed so I may be returning it. I love the idea of a support group for those of us with teen age daughters. Although my daughter is only 10 she acts like she is 15 most of the time. I can totally relate to the Christmas meltdown, Boogie. My daughter wanted a digital camera for Christmas, which I thought was too extravagant for a 10 year old, but my in-laws went ahead and got her one. Well, it's only a 3.1 mega pixel and it turns out she wanted at least a 7.2 like my husband and I have. Talk about ungrateful...
  8. Melting Vanilla Bean Noel from Pinepoint; a wonderful vanilla scent with a caramel base, but it isn't too sweet. It's a winner with the entire family so I will definitely re-order!
  9. Burning Mulled Cider from CHC in the kitchen and Cool Waters from Pinepoint in the powder room in my new burner I got for Christmas from my mom. It's a lighthouse, which goes perfectly with my nautical "theme". :)
  10. I am melting Lavendar and Vanilla from Pinepoint in the bedrooms and bathrooms and Weekend at the Cabin, also from Pinepoint, in the kitchen and loft. I absolutely love these two scents and plan on ordering more after the holidays.
  11. Here is a recipe for a super easy dip that would go nicely with Mexican food. Cream 8 ounces of cream cheese (at room temperature) until smooth then sir rin 1 cup of salsa (mild to hot, whatever your preference) and 1 cup of finely shredded cheddar cheese. This is great served with Ritz crackers. Is Hot Fudge Brownies really sweet smelling?
  12. Still burning CHC Caramel Nut Cluster. This is a definite winner and has helped keep me in a good frame of mind as I clean and prepare for my in-laws, who are arriving tomorrow! By the end of the day I will be ready to change scents. Will probably go with CHC Peppermint Snow. I think there is no better time to melt a fresh, new tart than right after you've cleaned the entire house!
  13. Carmel Nut Cluster from CHC. I will order from CHC again just for this scent! I read Dawn's review of Chunky Chunkie Candles and added them to my list to order from!
  14. I am burning Mulled Cider from Scentsy. I don't normally buy Scentsy wax (too expensive!) but my sister-in-law gave me a couple of clamshells when she was here visiting last month. I do like it, but probably wouldn't order it for myself. mtiffany- I read Christina's review from Candle Haven, too, and am tempted to place an order. My favorite burners are 25 watt bulb burners. It seems to work well with most wax. Is there a way to block certain people from posting? "guest" had said she was not going to post anymore and yet continues to do so. Pretty low to insinuate that momuvtwo isn't spending enough time with her two children. Maybe "guest" needs to stop bashing people on line and find something more productive to do.
  15. My family has been great about my tart habit. My daughter has her own burner in her bedroom and she has fun helping me chose new scents to try and I usually let her pick one to use in her burner. My husband is starting to take an interest, too. The other day I actually caught him going through my tart inventory smelling all the differant ones! Today I'm burning CHC Cinnamon Vanilla. It's smells super, just wish it were a little stronger. Does anyone know if the Cinnamon Vanilla from Crosscreek's is any good? I have never ordered from them, but am planning too after the first of the year.
  16. My husband turned on the burner upstairs in the loft so I added Creme Brulee from Chestnut Hills. This is one of my daughter's favorites. Twigs and Berries is still going strong downstairs. I would definitely order this scent again. The "twigs" keep the berries from being overly sweet. My husband and 12 year old son both love it.
  17. "">momuvtwo- hope you feel better soon!
  18. Just got my CHC order. That was fast! I put Autumn Spice in my 25 watt burner and so far it's nice; not too strong, but it has a good throw and kind of reminds me of hot apple cider. I am anxious to compare it to Warm Mulled Cider, which I also ordered. She included two free tarts, Carmel Nut Cluster and Cedar & Saffron, which I thought was very generous considering the shipping was free. Free samples always make my day! I love that you can order single scents. I like to try out a scent before I commit to a large quantity.
  19. I am burning Apples and Cinnamon from PinePoint Candles. It's not as strong as I would like, but the scent is very authentic. I will probably order from this company again just because their scents are so true, the prices are reasonable and she threw in lots of free samples!
  20. Thank you, PinkSugar. We are very blessed that he was able to come home in time for the holidays. He should not have to deploy again since he is retiring in a year or so.
  21. Thanks, Boogie. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that he is back home and safe. I really admire Tiffany, though. 15 months is a long time to be separated from your husband, especially with 6 year old triplets! Good luck with your move to Texas, Tiffany!
  22. I am melting YC Christmas Eve. I love this fragrance and it has a good throw and lasts a long time. I haven't been buying YC much at all lately, but I have some tarts from their after Christmas clearance last year so I've been using them. I can never seem to resist a good sale/clearance on tarts!
  23. This is a great idea! My name is Michelle and we just moved to the Las Vegas area 15 months ago. My husband is in the Air Force so we've lived in some interesting places, including Guam! He has been deployed to Iraq for the past 6 months, but is due home tomorrow! I can't wait. We've been married for almost 15 years and this is the longest we've ever been apart. We have two children; a son, 12 and a daughter, 10. I've been a stay at home mom since my son was born. I never realized how fast time flies until I had kids! I've always enjoyed scented candles, but last year I discovered tart burners and haven't looked back since! I mostly burn bakery/spicy scents, but I like clean/fresh scents in the bedrooms and bathrooms and sometimes florals, as long as they're not to "flowery".
  24. I have Cinnamon Bun (from what used to be Snowtop Candles) in 3 of my electric burners.
