  1. Happy 4th everyone! Tonight I am watching Haven after everyone else is in bed and burning YC Bunny Cake and Lemon Zest. They go really well together! Sweet and slightly bakery-ish, like a waffle cone or maybe a macaron with lemon curd and a dusting of toasted coconut.
  2. I haven't finished my fruity candles yet, but to give my nose a break from them I pulled out some lovely fresh candles today. It's warm and muggy here, so any illusion of coolness will help, lol. Kitchen: Beach Wood and Black Coconut (both large jars since they are both softer) Living Room: Dune Grass (large jar, first time burning this scent) :) Upstairs Hallway: Early Sunrise (2 wick tumbler) Master Bedroom: Beach Wood (2-wick tumbler) Candlelove, that combo sounds perfect for the beach! Bet it smells GOOD at your house!
  3. biolaeagles, probably at least a few of them were there with you! They are about 30, give or take a few years, as well. My husband graduated with his MBA there in 2006 I believe, so we were there for the graduation. But I think the graduate schools' graduation was in a different time/place from undergrad.
  4. I finished my YC Juicy Watermelon large jar last night!! Today I will be going for an "exotic location drinking a fruit smoothie" theme. :) I still have YC Paradise Spice, Pineapple Cilantro, and Black Coconut in the living areas, and Waikiki Melon in the kitchen. I want to finish Waikiki Melon and Pineapple Cilantro in the next week or two so I can switch away from the fruity scents a bit. I am kind of getting tired of them...eyeing the more beachy ones next. NMhoneybear, that fire sounds so scary!!! I know what you mean about the fine layer of smoke dust...I had to wipe everything down and clean my living room rug. Also, you reminded me that my smoke alarm did NOT go off in the ordeal--time to check it! biolaeagles, I love Black Coconut, too...is it a bit soft/low throw for you? I don't mind it, but I was wondering if it's usually pretty soft. Also, is that Biola U in your username? I have lots of friends who went there. :)
  5. Hi guys. Today I am trying reeeeeeeally hard to finish my Yankee Juicy Watermelon...there is about an inch left on the bottom of my large jar and I love that feeling of accomplishment of finishing one! Haha Other than that, I have Yankee Black Coconut and Paradise Spice burning in the living room.
  6. Sorry if this is (and feel free to direct me to a thread where this has been discussed), but I noticed lots of the regulars here seem to favor melting tarts over burning candles...I wondered why? Honeybear, I have broken a toe twice now...not fun. I sympathize and hope you feel better soon. I have about 5 candles going because my daughter burned some mac and cheese in the microwave and the smell was horrible! Burning all yankee: Pineapple Cilantro in the kitchen, Polynesian Punch (simply home line) and Juicy Watermelon in the living room, Beach Wood in my bedroom, and Pina Colada in the kids' room. Smells pretty tropical up in here!
  7. Thanks for the welcome. Sweet&spicygrl, I have been reading Dan Brown novels this summer. Lol! And I do love a good play on words.
  8. Tonight for the first time I lit a mango candle from Archipelago that I found at Marshall's super cheap....it smells fantastic but I've already had to foil it to keep it from tunneling.
  9. Burning Yankee Juicy Watermelon in the kitchen and Waikiki Melon in the living room. Both really strong!
  10. Hi everyone. Just saying hi! I have been a wax melts girl for several years, changed to that from candles when I had small kids, but now that my kids are bigger I miss the flickering flame of candles! I joined here to see what's new in the candle world. :)
