    Okay, here is how this game will work....

     

    How to play:

    * Locate a scent that has one or more of the following spices listed in the scent description: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, sage, or ginger. The spice must be listed in the actual scent description, not just the name of the scent. (Also note: Gingerbread is not the same as Ginger for this game.)

     

    * Please post the scent AND the scent description, along with the name of the vendor.

     

    * If your chosen scent has more than one of the listed spices, you will gain extra entries! (Example: If you used this scent from Angie's - Harvest Thyme ~ All the smells of fall! From the falling leaves to the scents of cinnamon, cloves & baking goodies! - you would gain TWO entries into the contest.)

     

    * Vendors may be for candles or bath/body.

     

    * Vendors may be repeated, but scents from the same vendor may not. For example, if Harvest Thyme was listed from Angie's on Day 2, that specific scent could not be repeated for the remainder of the game. But Grandma's Kitchen (All the wonderful smells of grannys kitchen, from apple pies, cinnamon, spices and other yummy goodies!) from Angie's could still be used.

     

    * You cannot post directly behind yourself. This means there must be at least one other person's response after yours before you can post again.

     

    * Each eligible post will count as one entry into the contest. You may gain additional entries as mentioned above. The winner(s) will then be selected using Random.org.

     

    Prize 1 - 24 melts in assorted LOL scents

    Prize 2 - 12 melts from LOL in assorted scents

     

    * Remember, to be eligible, you must be actively participating in other games within the Game Room. The minimum requirement is one non-contest game during the month. It's easy to do! You can play to win even if you have won one of these contests before!

     

    * BONUS! Because the prize is from LOL, If any entries are from LOL, it will be worth 5 entries.

     

    * Contest ends October 31st, 20012 at midnight CST.

     

    Example of how this game will be played:

    Poster 1: Grandma's Kitchen ~ All the wonderful smells of granny's kitchen, from apple pies, cinnamon, spices and other yummy goodies! Angie's Country Candles

    Poster 2: CINNAMON APPLE Hot Apple Aroma with Lots of Cinnamon Spice. Maximum Scented

    Poster 1: Chai Tea ~ spicy cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh green tea and a touch of creamy soy milk. Abundascents (NOTE: This poster would gain 2 entries because both cinnamon and nutmeg are listed.)

    Poster 3: Clove - Strong clove with hints of other spices like cinnamon and ginger. Aunt Becky's (NOTE: This poster would gain 3 entries since clove, cinnamon, and ginger are listed.)

    Welcome to Candlefind! [smilie=th_wave]

     

    Just so you know... this forum is for candle consumers - not candle makers. We do have a Vendor section too once you start your company and have an online store. Craftserver would probably be a better forum for you if you wanted to chat with other candle makers. If you want to talk wax and companies and shopping shopping shopping for wax.... this definitely be the place to chat. [smilie=snoopy]

    Are you newly registered and wondering why you can't view protected forums? The answer is - you haven't posted anything yet. Protected forums on the board are accessible to active posters only which is very easy to do... more than 5 posts per month keeps you active.

     

    If you can't manage that, you won't be able to view or read those rooms.

     

    If the rooms don't open up after 3 posts... don't despair... it'll kick in, we promise. [smilie=th_i-m_so_happy]

    I just wanted to let everyone know that my dad's situation has gotten bad and if you do not see me posting please don't boot me off. I think there is a posting requirement and right now I just don't have the energy to post what I'm melting. He was in the hospital last week for a pain crisis, was discharged today against his doctor's recommendation but the doctor still discharged him and then the shoe fell. He should of never been discharged and now his situation is bad as my mom cannot properly care for him due to his very limited mobility. She's frazzled and in denial, I'm just frazzled and sick to my stomach, and my dad is in worse shape than when he was in the hospital. I had "the talk" with my mom about hospice and then I called his caseworker who was concerned about him going him as their home isn't set up properly for his needs and my mom's work schedule. She took the rest of the week after after bringing him home because he can't be alone since he can't walk due to the pain. I'm not sure if she's ready to accept hospice but in my heart I know it's the right place for him. I think he's entered the terminal part of the disease and hospice can provide him with the comfort and doctor free environment at home that he desires. I don't see the point of chemo anymore as the cancer is too far spread to really do much in terms of extending his life. I haven't had "the talk" with him because this hasn't been confirmed with the oncologist it's just what I've researched. However, this is the social worker's goal but this goal cannot be achieved right now due to the pain. He's on very serious and dangerous pain medications (methadone for chronic pain which is the dangerous one) because the other serious stuff doesn't help (morphine,Oxycotin, Vicodin...all jokes as they don't touch the pain...hard to believe I know). He needs radiation therapy and he has 10 days left of it. This is the only way to relieve the pain from the metastatic soft tissue tumor that is causing his pain and problems. The colon tumor isn't bothering him at all except that it's throwing cancer cells to every end of his body. TMI I know but I was afraid that if I don't post for a few days then my membership might be terminated. I love this board. I am not in the mood right now for too much candle talk as I'm physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. I've been trying so hard to prevent him from ever getting into this situation but my advice just went unlistened to which has been causing me an enormous amount of stress for the past 2 months. I'll be around but if I got MIA for a day or two just know that I'm dealing with this and helping my family out as much as I can. Thank you everyone!

    Wanted to post here since some may not read the announcements section in time.

     

    We're in the process of moving Candlefind to it's very own server and during this migration, I have to temporarily shut down the Candlefind forum.

     

    We'll be back up soon, I promise... just as soon as the move is complete, I'll open her back up.

    For all those having issues getting on the forum, we've been attempting to upgrade some software to our server and it's kind of acting screwy. That's part of the reason the site was down yesterday....

     

    Till it's fixed, there may be some upload delays when you first try and and access the forum. Nothing I can do but.... we're workng on it now.
