Intro To My Wax Warmer Review
I travel a lot for work and, like most scent addicts, I wanted a way to be able to bring my scents with me. I was looking for something easily portable and no-fuss, so that I could enjoy my smellies even while trapped in an office for hours on end. I’ve shied away from wall wax warmers because I didn’t think they would be able to scent any space well, even an office space. However, when I saw the Better Homes & Gardens Elephant Wall Accent Wax Warmer at Walmart, I was hooked. How adorable is he? Surely he wouldn’t let me down! I had to try it out to see.
First Impressions of My Wax Warmer
This elephant wax warmer was actually pretty well made. I liked the fact that the plug-in could swivel, so that I 
could use it in horizontally or vertically oriented outlets. The Elephant Wall Accent Wax Warmer came with a vented ceramic lid. I found this totally unnecessary, actually. If you place this on top of the melted wax, it will dampen some of the fragrance from the warmer. The wattage is so low to begin with, and the bowl only holds such a small amount of wax, I didn’t want the added dampening of my scent throw with the lid. The other thing was that the rim of the lid would sit in the melted wax, getting it all messy and stained. I did try using the lid once – it was really cute from a decor standpoint, but I tossed it to the side after that.
The heat source for this wax warmer was a 15 watt light bulb. One was included in the package, which was nice. There was an on/off switch near the bottom – easy peasy to control. He did have some vent holes in the back, so there was a pretty glow from the bulb when this guy was turned on.
How Did My Wax Warmer Perform?
I absolutely LOVED this wax warmer! It really did do a fantastic job in a closed office space. Of course, the amount of fragrance I was able to get depended on the scent I was using at the time, but overall, it did a great job. I had people in and out who often commented on how good it smelled in my office.
The cleaning instructions included with this warmer were to turn off the warmer to let it cool, then to place it in the freezer for 15 minutes. The wax would easily pop out then. I like pouring my wax out hot, but I couldn’t easily do that with this melter. I did put a cotton ball into the bowl to soak up the wax, followed by a 2nd cotton ball to thoroughly clean out the bowl. That was much easier for me than the freezer method, and I was able to move on to my next wax melt a lot quicker.
Closing To My Elephant Wall Accent Wax Warmer Review
I absolutely love this adorable wax melter! I think it was a great purchase and well worth the money. It’s one of several wax warmers at Walmart that can be found in the same aisle with the scented wax melts. It works well in small, contained spaces (such as an office or small bathroom). Just keep in mind that it can only hold about a half an ounce of wax, so you’d also have to be choosy about the melts you use if you want to have the best results. Most of the wax melts from Scentsationals or Better Homes & Gardens are a fairly safe bet. This warmer would also work well for essential oils or fragrance drops. I have a number of melters that I test out and that then go into our Scented Surplus boxes for purchase, but I’m holding on to this little guy. He’s a keeper in my regular rotation!
