How did my candle smell?
Let’s start off with the scent description for Dozen Roses:
Like a delicate sweet first kiss, this delightfully refreshing fragrance opens with gentle notes of pear, blackberry and fresh raspberry. An intoxicating blend of Osman… thus, pomegranate, peach & prune combine in the middle for another sweet reminder. Notes of musk, sugarcane and white amber have a warming finish for this special moment.
This was a very interesting candle for me. The fragrance itself was a unique scent and didn’t smell like roses at all. It was floral but sweet.
Reading that description makes me wonder why they named this scent “Dozen Roses” because it really smelled nothing like it. With a true rose scent I typically expect a classic and heavy rose with a little bit of greenery. I felt this was more of an “indoor” rather than a “garden” type of scent with more sweetness to it which I’m assuming was all the fruity notes listed in the description. Very strange overall.
Strength – this was a light to medium strength candle that had a modest throw. I could smell the scent a few feet away but not throughout the room. I would overall recommend it to scent-sensitive people who like floral/sweet scents.
My candle burned very well. The wax pool formed within an hour, and the candle burned evenly. I got about 70 hours of burn time. There was very little wax on the inside of the jar. There was minimal soot.
Closing to my review:
I really liked the appearance of this label and the deep, rich scarlet of the wax. The scent, though nice, was not what I expected. The candle was a light to medium strength; the throw was fine. I would overall recommend Dozen Roses to scent-sensitive people who like floral/sweet scents.
