As summer is quickly coming to a close, it seems fitting that we close out the Evoke Candle Co. Summer Tour Collection with a review of their Disco Fever candle. (Read our earlier review of the rest of the collection: Heavy Metal, Flower Power, and British Invasion). While my stomping ground includes rhythm and blues and country, I have a ample fond memories of the Bee Gees and Sister Sledge. So Disco Fever? I’m all in!

Packaging/Presentation
I have loved every one of the candles I’ve tried from Evoke, because it’s like getting a little surprise gift in every box. The art work is carefully and thoughtfully crafted on each and every one, including this Disco Fever candle. The box was exactly what I would have envisioned – black with electric colors. A disco ball took center stage…what else?? The font for the words ‘Disco Fever’ was super fun and psychedelic. Boogie down!
The candle vessel was black and had the matching label on the front. You could easily remove the label if you wanted, but the label was a part of the charm of the candle to me. At 13.5 ounces, the candle was heavy in the hand and of obvious good quality. This particular candle had a canary yellow coloring to the coconut blend wax, in keeping with the electric, energizing feel. A well-centered single wick completed the look.
Authenticity
I wasn’t sure what scent might pair with the theme of Disco Fever. In my mind, I was thinking something energizing and zippy. Looking at the website scent description, this is what I found:
Disco Fever will have you searching for the perfect sequined jumpsuit and reaching for your favorite mixed drink with its yummy Pina Colada scent, pineapple yellow wax, and colorful disco ball print. Your Disco Fever candle is inspected for quality and wrapped in tissue paper before being placed in a coordinating gift box perfect sharing or as a gift for yourself.
Pina Colada? Great choice! I think the yellow coloring of the wax and the drink in the hand at the club all tied together. The cold sniff? Ahhhh! It smelled like a fresh, creamy pineapple-coconut drink. So refreshing!
I lit this candle in the master bedroom where I was hanging out, because I really was intrigued to see if this scent would be as realistic hot as it was cold. The candle started off nice and even, taking about a little over an hour to get a good wax melt pool. It didn’t take that long to start noticing the scent though…the freshness of pineapple was what I noticed initially. It was soft and sweet, juicy and delicious! As the candle burned more, I could detect the creaminess of the sweet coconut. There was a lot of sweetness going on, but it was not candy sweet. I think the warm rum notes helped keep it from being too sweet. I noticed those warmer notes as the candle burned longer, but the scent was a good one from start to finish. So realistic and yummy!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I found this candle scent throw an interesting one. It was stronger for me on the 2nd and 3rd burns, even though I had it in the same spot. I also found that this scent got stronger as it burned longer. That part made more sense to me because as the warmer notes came out, it seemed to help the scent seem a little bolder.
The scent throw for me was fantastic. It completely enveloped my master bedroom, which is a fairly large space with tall ceilings. I could smell the scent on into the master bathroom, too. Like instant disco night every time I entered the room!
Burn Performance
My Disco Fever candle took about an hour to really get going with a good wax melt pool. The melt pool was even from start to finish. I had no wasted wax on the sides of the jar. No black soot and no fussy wick. This was another slow-burning candle from Evoke, which I really appreciate. It makes the value of the candle even more!
Conclusion
My Disco Fever candle was a big hit at my house. It evoked fond memories for me and even kept the younger crowd pleased with its fragrance. It was a super clean burning candle that lasted for-ever! That is always a huge plus in my book and one of the very reasons I cherish these candles so much. Super fun and super good – Disco Fever was all that and more!
