The Site For Candle Lovers
Maison Francis Kurkdjian was born in 2009 from the encounter between Francis Kurkdjian, a renowned perfumer with scores of successful creations to his name, and Marc Chaya, Co-founder and President of the fragrance house.
Together, they fulfilled their desire for a sensual, generous and multi-facetted landscape of free expression, creating a new emblem of French know-how and lifestyle.
The expertise and precision of the human hand have guided the creation of
this scented candle collection, from the design of the porcelaine mold to the
decoration of the box. One week was necessary to craft the candle jar made of
bisque porcelain from Limoges, with two successive firing stages: one at 1800°F
for six hours, during which the material was transformed into a bisque, followed
by another at 2550°F for eight hours, to make it permanently non-porous and
give the hand painted inner glaze its full depth of color.
Lastly, a mineral-vegetal wax of French origin was selected, in which a braided
cotton wick was dipped to guarantee the candles’ fragrance quality with an
optimal burning time estimated to 55 hours.
