Crunchy Pistachio Vanilla Yankee Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Yankee Candle
Type: 22oz large candle
Fragrance: Crunchy Pistachio Vanilla
Scent Strength: Medium in a small room
First impression of Crunchy Pistachio Vanilla:
I’m not normally a fan of Pistachio but I love cookie scents so this fragrance sounded too good to pass up. When I popped off the lid to smell the mint green wax… a sweet and sugar pistachio cookie scent wafted all around me. It was strong and pretty yummy.
Here is the scent description I pulled from Yankee’s website:
A sweet, nutty treat of pistachio, almond and lots of rich vanilla.
Smelling the wax again, I smelled pretty much everything in the above description – – pistachio and almond stood out the most to me with vanilla a subtle aroma in the background. I liked it and hope it’s a strong fragrance once burning.
I stuck to a small bathroom to start out. Once the wick was lit, it took good three hours to reach a full melt pool and from then on out…. sweet pistachio, almond and vanilla filled my bathroom with fragrance. The aroma stayed pretty true to the description with pistachio and almond definitely the strongest.
After burning this candle a week straight, I’m not so sure I would say this candle smelled like a cookie but it sure was a fresh bakery scent and definitely one you notice the moment you walk into the room. I really liked how fresh is smelled.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a small room and when I say small, I’m referring to a pretty small bathroom. Anything larger and the scent would be completely diluted.
How did my candle burn?
This candle was very slow burning and performed very well. No wick issue other than I had to make sure I trimmed the wick before each lighting which is pretty normal. This candle also burned clean and even from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
Even though I’m not a fan of pistachio scents, I still enjoyed this candle quite a bit. It’s a lively and fun scent and I loved how fresh it smelled. Seems weird to call a bakery scent fresh but I swear this scent was. You’ll have to go smell one to see for yourself.
I don’t see these Cookie Swap candles listed on Yankee’s site anymore but I’m sure they’re available in their stores. It wasn’t that long ago I purchased this candle.
Happy candle hunting!
