Intro To My Soy Candle Review
Our third review of Lone Star Candles & More is one of their medium sized candle jars (16oz iconic jar) in the scent Cranberries & Sandalwood – a great sounding combination! I thoroughly enjoyed both Pomegranate Delight and Lavender & Lemons, so I was excited to try this third scent from their lineup. I really have become a big fan of soy candles, so reviewing these has been a treat.
First Impressions of My Candle
This candle was similar in shape to my my Lavender & Lemons candle, only larger in size. The label was large and clearly displayed the company name and scent name. The label could come off pretty easily if that’s what you wanted. The wax was a pretty red color and there was a single, well-centered wick. This candle also came with a chrome, well-fitting lid.
On cold sniff, my first thought was spiced cranberries. I could smell the sweet-tanginess of the cranberry scent with some heavy spices that made it seem kind of festive. Heading for the scent description, I found:

I couldn’t pick all those notes out on cold sniff, but I could definitely tell this was not a straight cranberry scent. There was something in this candle that tamed the tanginess of the cranberry and gave it a little weight. I was excited to try this one out.
Since my small candle jar did so well, I decided to go ahead and try this candle out in a larger kitchen space. I lit the candle and let it start to wield its magic. It was not long after that I started getting the bright, tangy scent of cranberries….ahhh! It smelled very zippy and refreshing. After burning for a while the scent became more warm and somewhat resinous. I could get the warmth of clove and a little woodiness.
I could smell this candle all throughout the room it was in and it even trickled its magic on down the hallway. I was pleased with how much scent I was getting out of this candle!
How Did My Candle Perform?
I’ve mentioned before about the shorter starting wicks with these candles. I did have a little trouble at first as this one was really short. When I initially tried to burn it, the flame quickly was extinguished by the surrounding melting wax. I solved this problem by scooping out a little wax right around the wick. Then once it started burning, I did pour off a little of the melted wax to keep it from drowning my wick. In order not to waste the wax, I poured that wax into a melter. After these little tricks, I got a nice, clean burn with this candle. A full wax melt pool that was even and fairly deep. I never noticed any black sooting. This candle was another slow burner, so I could see the stated burn time of up to 65 hours being accurate.
Closing To My Candle Review
I loved this candle from Lone Star Candles & More, much like the other ones I tried. These candles provide nice, clean burns and last a super long time. They’re highly fragrant and the scent offerings are divine, like this one. Cranberries & Sandalwood would make a great holiday scent, but it would also be great for burning year-round.
