What did my candle smell like?
Let’s start off with the scent description for Copacabana Beach:
Rio’s most fashionable spot to fun and swim comes to life in this beachy blend of sun-kissed coconut, ocean-washed driftwood and a hint of sweet tonka.
That sounds lovely. Smelling the wax for the first time… I could detect pretty much every element in that description… ocean washed driftwood and coconut being the two strongest characters. The overall scent had a masculine vibe to it so I think the driftwood notes dominate the most. I liked it but then I’m partial to masculine scents.
Time to light my candle!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom to test out and would say it took roughly 10 minutes to start noticing the aroma once lit. Not long after, the fragrance traveled all throughout my bedroom, large open bathroom and even started spilling out of the room and beyond. Loved the scent throw… not too strong but a perfect medium. The aroma… a lovely masculine creamy coconut scent. It was nice. Not spectacular but nice if that makes sense? Bath & Body Works has so many masculine and coconut blends… it’s starting to become a little harder to differentiate them all. So while i enjoyed this fragrance, it didn’t really stand out enough for me if that makes sense. It actually reminded me of quite a few other fragrances I’ve already tried from them.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8. Not super strong but gave a nice and steady medium scent throw.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. The wicks lit right up with zero issues. Clean and even burn. A+
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed Copacabana Beach but it didn’t really “wow” me enough to purchase it again. Don’t let that stop you though, if you happen to be in a Bath & Body Works store and you see this candle, go smell one… you may like it. Especially if you love sweet masculine scents.

This candle still rates high because it met all the criteria we look for in a candle regardless of what I personally thought of it. Presentation was good, the scent matched the description, it burned perfect and the scent throw was excellent.
