Coconut Mocha Candle Review

Coconut Mocha

Brand: Village Candle

Type: 16oz candle

Fragrance: Coconut Mocha

Scent Strength: Medium/Light

First impression of Coconut Mocha:

Coconut Mocha is a limited addition fragrance from Village and one I couldn’t wait to burn. I love, LOVE coconut scents and this fragrance sounded right up my alley. I mean, coconut and chocolate were practically made for each other so I had a feeling I was going to like this candle… a lot!

Here is the scent description from Village’s website:

Slip into a dreamy decadent world of your favorite flavors. This fragrant paradise tempts and treats the senses with notes of creamy island coconut and richest mocha.

Yum!! First impression when smelling the wax? I loved it. I smelled an equal blend of chocolate and coconut and it smelled very realistic. Nothing fake or synthetic as some chocolate scents can take on. The coconut was smooth and creamy, like a sugary coconut ice cream. The mocha was present but not overpowering. So far, so good!

Coconut Mocha Candle Review

Time to light my candle!

I lit this candle in my large master bedroom but soon realized (about an hour in) that this candle needed to be moved to a much smaller room. I actually skipped a medium size and went straight to small one and boy was a small room a perfect fit for this fragrance!! Once moved, my entire bathroom smelled like the creamiest coconut milk with hints of chocolate. Yep, it wasn’t equal parts like I thought it would be… not to my nose anyway. This fragrance was all creamy coconut with the teeniest hint of warm chocolate. I LOVED IT!!!!

Strength – this candle wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be but that’s okay… we can’t everything we want right? On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a really tiny room. 5 in a medium and I wouldn’t even try in a large room and if you do, go for two candles at once.

How Did My Candle Burn?

This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning. The first half of the candle, I did have to stay on top of wick trimming but after the halfway point, I didn’t have to and it was smooth sailing from there. 🙂

Closing to My Coconut Mocha Candle Review:

I loved Coconut Mocha and highly recommend this one to all you coconut lovers out there. It was sweet, creamy and a scent you’ll be tempted to drink. I’m for sure going back for more. It’s also on sale making it that much more tempting.

Don’t forget, this is a limited addition scent so not sure how long it will be around. If you wanted to try it, don’t wait!

Happy candle hunting!

Christina, thanks for another fantastic review of the Coconut Mocha Candle by Village Candle this time around. This sounds like a really yummy scent to light up in my powder bathroom while entertaining. My wife is in love with anything chocolate like so many other woman I know. This candle is almost a no brainer to add to my collection especially if it’s still on sale ?

Chris I was wondering if you can help me with something else ? We constantly hear that a candle and it’s scent may be more or less detectable depending on the environmental conditions such as the humidity and the tempature.? If this is true what is the target humidity level and tempature we should be looking for in order to have the best scent throw from most of our candles? Is more humidity better than less humidity, are hotter temps better than lower, ext?

I know so much of what we detect with our noses depends on the individual person, and how the candle is made. I can’t change any of these parameters, but I am in control of the humidity levels in my home especially during the winter months, and what tempature I like the inside of my home.

Any of your expert feedback on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Brad

    • Hi Brad,

I’m not sure how to accurately answer your question because I’ve never heard about humidity playing a role on the strength of a candle. I do know where you place your candles matters such as under an air vent or by an open window/door etc… that does play a role. I basically move a candle around from room to room till I find the right fit “strength wise” – – I’m always after getting the most strength out of each candle I burn so if it works best in a small room, that’s where it goes. This specific candle in this review worked best in a small room and I loved it.
