What did my candle smell like?
Coconut is a “Country Kitchen” candle from Yankee and one I purchased on sale years ago. One I’m only now getting around to reviewing. My bad. I basically forgot I purchased it.
I don’t see this candle listed on Yankee’s website anymore so I’m not sure if it’s been retired or just off their site for a while. I don’t even have a scent description to reference but one really isn’t needed… the wax on first sniff smelled like a classic suntan lotion coconut. Not really sweet or creamy… it smelled exactly like suntan oil.
Time to find out how this candle performs!
Because Yankee candles are generally lightly scented for me, I chose a small bathroom to burn this candle in. Once lit, it took a good hour or more to really start noticing the aroma and I have to say, I loved it! The coconut sweetened a bit once the candle was lit so the overall fragrance smelled like a nice and classic tropical coconut. Very nice.
Strength – this candle surprised me. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle between a 6 and 7 in a small room. Not bad for Yankee candle!
This candle burned great. No wick issue, clean burning from beginning to end. I just had to trim the wick each day which is totally normal.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed this candle, a lot! For a Yankee candle, it gave a pretty decent scent throw and the fragrance itself was a perfect and classic tropical coconut. It still reminded me a little of suntan lotion but I liked it regardless.
It’s too bad this candle is no longer listed. Who knows… maybe it will make a comeback at some point.
Happy candle hunting!
