This is a fresh, clean scent that is a bit unique by combining citrusy notes, fresh green notes, woodsy, and ozone notes. It is strong enough without being overbearing and long lasting. Definitely worth the purchase!

It’s been a watery-ozone kind of feeling over this way, which is what made me pull out my Clear Blue Oasis wax melt from Better Homes & Gardens. Maybe it’s the longing for the beach after being cooped up in the house so long. Maybe it’s because these ozone scents are often good choices this time of year in general. Or maybe it’s because I just stumbled on this pile of melts recently. Who knows? In any case, it was high time to try out this one from BH&G!

Packaging/Presentation
The BH&G wax melts were in the typical clamshell style packaging, with 2.5 ounces of wax. The melts were a soft blue color…very “ocean” like. On the cover of the packaging there was a picture that reminded me of the movie Blue Lagoon. It was overall very relaxing and very pretty.
Authenticity
The cold sniff was cologne-y and fresh and clean to me. Looking at the scent notes:

Overall, I was getting the ozone and a little bit of the green notes on cold sniff. I used 2 cubes in my 24W hotplate melter and that’s when I got the full effect. This scent was cologne-y and had that clean, soapy kind of smell to it. There was a brightness to this scent from the bergamot, which gave it a bit of a twang. After melting it for a bit, I could get a little bit of warmth from the scent, which I’m going to guess was from the cedarwood and moss. Cedarwood tends to have a sweet, woodsy kind of scent and I could get that only after melting this one for quite a while. I think of moss as an earthy type of green note, but I really didn’t get that from this scent. I found it a complex, fresh, clean scent that I totally enjoyed.
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I would rate Citrus Blue Oasis as a moderately strong scent, as it was strong enough to notice without being overpowering or overbearing. The throw was fantastic, as I could smell it in the small room it was in, as well as down the hallways. This was one of those scents that had a pleasant mismatch between the strength and throw…I think if this one was stronger, it would have been unpleasant, as it did seem to travel on throughout the house.
Melt Performance
This wax melt kept it’s scent for about 8 hours before I noticed it really starting to fade. I usually get pretty good melt performance from BH&G, and this was no exception.
Conclusion
You’re able to purchase the Clear Blue Oasis wax melts on the Walmart website, or you can purchase in store if you’re able to find them. This is a Limited Edition scent, so it’s hit or miss if you come across it in stores. This is one I would definitely pick up again, as it was fresh and clean without being too, too much. I think the difference with this fresh/clean scent was the mix of the green notes in there with the citrusy bergamot. That’s what will keep me coming back for more of this one.
