What did my Citrus Woods candle smell like?
Have you been paying attention to the sales Colonial Candle has been having lately? Oh my goodness!! They are hard to resist considering how rare they are. 50% off is unheard of so of course I HAD to place a few orders. Had to.
Citrus Woods drew my attention the moment I saw it… Citrus! One of my favorite scents to burn when the sun is shining. It’s just so fresh and super clean. I love it.
The candle itself was really pretty. I don’t know how Colonial does it but I love the colors of their wax, all so vibrant and almost florescent. The wax with Citrus Woods was a bright moss green… the label (off center which was weird) showed a variety of citrus fruits… lime, orange and grapefruit sitting on a bed of wood.
Here is the scent description for this fragrance:
Luminous citrus notes are highlighted by a bouquet of sun-kissed florals and warm cedarwood.
First impression… I didn’t detect any floral in this scent – which suited me just fine. To me, the wax smelled really fresh and reminded me of a citrusy and masculine cologne. My nose picked up lime and cedarwood the most and it smelled amazing! I liked it but then I’ve always been partial to fresh masculine fragrances.
Time to see how this candle performs once lit!
I decided to burn this candle in my large master bedroom since Colonial’s large jars are always room fillers for me. Once lit, it took a good hour to reach a full melt pool and once it did, it was a gorgeous candle to watch burning. The scent… a delicious and masculine citrus. LOVED it!! I smelled zesty lime and golden cedarwood all the way. I could totally imagine this scent as a lotion or men’s cologne.
Strength – after a full day of burning this candle… it performed great but the scent throw wasn’t as strong as I hoped it would be. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle between a six and 7 in a large room. An 8 in a medium size room and 10 in a small room. Something to keep in mind should you purchase this candle.
How did my Citrus Woods candle burn?
My candle burned perfect. Zero issues. Clean and even burn from start to finish. One bit of advice with Colonial Candles… don’t initially trim the wicks before you first light it. The wicks appear long brand new but they taper down on their own once lit. If you trim them, you basically screw up the candle. Been there, done that.
Closing to my review:
I absolutely loved this fragrance! Imagine fresh and zesty lime with the perfect hints of warm cedarwood. It was vibrant, fresh and very masculine. Loved it!!
I highly recommend this candle if you love citrus and masculine scents…. I’ll definitely be going back for more when I order again down the road.
Happy candle hunting!
