Candlefind Says

A great mix of sweet-spicy cinnamon with the smell of fresh pine – perfect for holiday gatherings!

Pros

  • Even, clean burn
  • Super long-lasting

Cons

  • Largest size is 13 oz

The holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s officially candle season! There are so many candles out there, it is hard to spread the love. When I find a brand that is top notch, I tend to gravitate towards when it’s time to have company over. Who wants to be blamed for burning bad candles? Finding Home Farms is one of those companies that I can easily grab for and feel confident that I will get a nice, clean burn and a delicious scent to boot. One of the ones I tried recently was Nutmeg, which I loved. Next up is their Cinnamon Pinecone candle – perfect for a holiday gathering or two!

Packaging/Presentation

Finding Home Farms Cinnamon Pinecone Candle

The Cinnamon Pinecone candle was the 10 ounce size and boxed in a gorgeous vintage-look package. The packaging, like the Nutmeg candle, reminded me of the Farmer’s Almanac. There was a lot of detail on the box itself, including scent name, company name, estimated burn time, and more. The candle itself was in a sleek, clear vessel with a heavy bottom – pure quality. I loved that this candle had the company logo towards the bottom of the candle jar. Those who get distracted by labels would most likely enjoy this look. You are able to burn it and get that nice, glowing look without a label in the way.

The candle had a single wick which was well-centered (100% cotton). There are no dyes added to these candles, which goes along with the wholesome, natural look. There was not a lid for this candle, which was not a problem for me. I usually use a wick snuffer and I also have spare lids hanging around just for this purpose.

Authenticity

The cold sniff on this candle was a nice mix of slightly sweet cinnamon and the smell of fresh pine needles. The scent description on the website read:

A perfect blend for the fall and right into the holidays, Cinnamon Pinecone is soon to be your favorite.

Finding Home Farms

That is not much in the way of scent notes, but I don’t think much more was needed. It really did smell like fresh pinecones with a dusting of cinnamon. Once lit, the blend was a bit more fresh pinecones than cinnamon – I could still smell the cinnamon, but it took a backseat to the sweet, slightly spicy cinnamon. Fresh pinecones smell very pine-y to me with a little bit of Earthy, dustiness to it. This combination was absolutely perfect, because it didn’t teeter too much on the cinnamon (which can be overpowering) or too much on the earthy pinecones. I found it the perfect blend and one that should work well for holiday gatherings, albeit smaller versions this year.

Scent Strength & Scent Throw

The scent strength of the Cinnamon Pinecone candle was moderately strong – strong enough to know that it was burning but not too strong to run you out of the room. I had this candle in a fairly large open space, and I could easily tell that it was burning. The scent throw was fantastic, because I could smell it in surrounding areas, making the entire area seem festive and fun.

Burn Performance

I didn’t have any trouble burning my Cinnamon Pinecone candle. I was able to get a full wax melt pool after several hours (this candle was a slow burner). The wax melt pool was fairly shallow but even. I burned the candle for 4-5 hours at a time without issue – no black sooting, no crazy flame, and no wick migration. It was perfect! This was another super slow burning candle. I’ve burned it several times and it still has a lot of life left.

Conclusion

Candlefind Editor's Choice

I loved this Cinnamon Pinecone candle, much like all the candles I have tried from Finding Home Farms. They are one of my new favorite candle brands, and I’m looking forward to trying more in their collection. If you are having a small holiday gathering this year, Cinnamon Pinecone might be a great choice to keep things festive without being too in-your-face obnoxious…the best of both worlds when sharing your candle love with others!

And here’s a shopping tip: These candles normally retail for $24 each, but you can snatch one up for 20 bucks right now if you hurry! You can thank us later. 😉
