Cinnamon Pastry Harry & David Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Harry & David
Type: 16oz jar candle
Fragrance: Cinnamon Pastry
Scent Strength: Light
First impression of Cinnamon Pastry:
Harry & David candles can be a little hard to find these days. I’m lucky that a local grocery store where I live carries this brand so I get to sniff and buy at my leisure.
I couldn’t find a scent description for Cinnamon Pastry but the label pretty much tells you what this fragrance is. Cinnamon buns – and gooey at that. Smelling the wax, it smelled just like the picture. A strong cinnamon bakery. Lots of cinnamon, less bakery. If you love cinnamon bakery scents, this candle has your name written all over it.
Time to light my candle!
I stuck to a medium size room to burn my Cinnamon Pastry candle in and soon after moved it to my small powder room. The wicks lit right up but the flames tapered to little nubs. This not only caused tunneling but the wax never got hot enough to really enjoy the aroma. Once I moved the candle to my small powder room however, the scent was decent… I smelled a warm cinnamon bakery with lots of spice.
Strength – in a super tiny room, I would rate Cinnamon Pastry a 7 out of 10, and that’s with the candle tunneling pretty badly. Gives you an idea of how strong it would have been had it performed correctly.
How did my Cinnamon Pastry candle burn?
As stated above, this candle didn’t burn very well. The wicks burned like little nubs causing the candle to tunnel. Horribly.
Closing to my review:
Cinnamon Pastry started out promising and ended in total disappointment. I think had the wicks burned correctly, I would have had a much different result. I may purchase this candle again if it’s on sale just to see if I do. We shall see.
Harry & David candles aren’t easy to find. There are some online stores that carry this brand but if I were you, I would check locally in your grocery stores. That’s where I find mine.
Happy candle hunting!
