Introduction to my review:

With Christmas right around the corner… literally… I had to review at least one Christmas candle before December ends. I feel bad I couldn’t get more reviewed but I just didn’t have any time this year.

I love a good sale and Village Candle has been offering some AMAZING ones. So amazing, they’ve been pretty hard to resist. When I saw Christmas on the Beach, I couldn’t put it into my cart fast enough. Pure white wax with a picture of a lounge chair with a Santa hat on one corner facing the most beautiful crystal blue ocean. I’ve always wanted to spend a Christmas at a tropical location and this is about as close as I’ll get, for now anyway.

What did my candle smell like?

So, I admit this isn’t your classic Christmas scented candle but I still couldn’t resist it. I love all the scents of Christmas from Christmas pines to spicy cinnamon’s but sometimes I justchristmas-on-the-beach need an escape from all those heavy aromas and when that happens, coconut sounds pretty heavenly. When I saw this candle on Village’s scent list… I knew I wanted to review it. Here is the scent description from Village‘s website:

“This fragrance is the best of both worlds. That happy holiday feeling combined with the relaxing and tranquil serenity that the beach offers. Creamy coconut with juicy, ripe pineapple will take you away on a tropical retreat. Sit back and enjoy a fragrance that will transport you to a season on the sand and in the sun.”

Mmmm!!!! Smelling this candle for the first time, it kind of felt naughty since it seems so “anti” Christmas. (smirking) – – coconut and Christmas? Not the norm for sure. The wax on cold sniff smelled like a yummy and sweet pina colada… a perfect blend of both coconut and tangy pineapple. I liked!

Village candles burn pretty smooth for me in large rooms so I decided to burn this one in my large master bedroom. I’d say once lit, it took a good 30 minutes to start noticing the scent and once I did… mmmm… a nice sweet coconut with the perfect touch of tangy pineapple. Very tropical and oh so yummy! I can totally imagine myself in that chair in the label sipping this luscious drink with my feet all sandy and tan listening to classic Christmas music. Oh yes I can! Someday……

Strength – On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this candle between a 6 and 7 and that was in a pretty big room. It wasn’t super strong but it gave a nice and steady medium to light scent throw. I noticed it the moment I walked into my bedroom but the aroma never traveled outside that room. So if you want more of a punch… burn it in a medium to small room for a stronger fragrance.

I really enjoyed this candle… my family liked it too but when I told them it was a Christmas scent… the look on their faces was priceless. Deer in headlights funny. They looked at me like I was nuts… my little boys included. I just told them to imagine being in Hawaii for Christmas and this would be the fragrance we would be smelling. Then they got it!

candle-flameHow did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. Zero issues. Wicks stayed true, no soot and even and clean burn. One aspect I love about Village Candles… they burn nice and slow… even with two wicks. You really get your money’s worth with this brand.

Closing to my review:

This was a fun candle and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Not sure I would recommend it for those searching for an authentic Christmas scent. I would however recommend it if you’re NOT! 🙂 This fragrance was a tropical and sweet coconut all the way. Luscious and drinkable through a straw.

Christmas on the Beach is a limited addition from Village Candle so if you wanted to try one… you better hurry. It will be gone before you know it.

Happy candle hunting!

~ Christina
