Christmas Cookie Yankee Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Yankee Candle
Type: Large 22oz candle
Fragrance: Christmas Cookie
Scent Strength: Super light
First impression of Christmas Cookie:
Christmas Cookie was a holiday scent I couldn’t resist purchasing. I know I’m a couple of weeks late getting it reviewed now that Christmas is over but come on, it’s a cookie and cookie scents (even ones that are for Christmas) are pretty yummy to burn any time of the year. So, I’m reviewing it, lol!
Yankee is pretty good at creating bakery scents so I had high hopes for this scent. When I imagined what it smelled like, I imagined a warm vanilla sugar cookie with sweet buttercream icing and sugar sprinkles on top. YUM!! We shall see!
Here is the scent description from Yankee’s website:
Buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies.
Fragrance Notes:
Top: Creamy Vanilla Bean
Mid: Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Sugar
Base: Vanilla, Butter, Baked NotesTop note is the initial impression of the fragrance, middle note is the main body of the scent and base is its final impression.
Smelling the wax, my nose picked up on a light but sweet vanilla cookie. It wasn’t strong but it smelled really good. Crossing fingers this scent stays true once burning, and with that said, let’s find out!
Because Yankee candles are generally lightly scented for me, I stuck to a small bathroom to burn this candle in. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 5 hours or so to reach a full melt pool. Yep, these candles are very slow burning so it takes forever to reach full melt pools. The scent from then on out… a very light vanilla cookie aroma. It was warm and 100% yummy but very, VERY light. At least for me it was and I burned this candle in a really small room. Tiny in fact. I did love the scent though… it truly did smell like vanilla sugar cookies, nothing synthetic or fake about it. Just a perfect and warm cookie.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 4 in a really small room. I wouldn’t even attempt burning it in anything larger but if you do, try two candles or go with melts.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issue, clean burning from start to finish. It just takes a really long time to reach full melt pools so patience is always required with this brand. ?
Closing to my review:
Christmas Cookie from Yankee was definitely a yummy scent worth purchasing if you love sweet vanilla cookie scents. It was just really lightly scented for me so not sure I’ll be purchasing the candle again. I may go for melts next time to see if they’re any better. I have a feeling they will.
If you’re a bakery lover and you see this candle somewhere, pop off the lid and smell the wax. You may fall in love.
Happy candle hunting, and Happy New Year!
