Pink Sands Yankee Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Yankee Candle
Type: 22oz large candle
Fragrance: Pink Sands
Scent Strength: Medium
First impression of Pink Sands:
So, I have some exciting news! You can now purchase 10 different Yankee candle scents in their large jars at your local Walmart Superstore! How convenient is that? Especially for those of us who don’t have a Yankee store near us. That be me!! I love the idea of smelling fragrances before purchasing and another bonus… Walmart will be selling these large candles for $19.87, not the regular $27.99 price. SWEET!!!!
Want to know what scents Walmart will be carrying? See our post here where we list all ten fragrances.
Pink Sands happens to be one of the ten scents Walmart will be carrying and after reading the scent description, I couldn’t wait to review it. The moment I smelled the wax… LOVED!! The aroma smelled fresh and sweet, a perfect spring/summer scent.
Here is the scent description from Yankee’s website:
It’s an exotic island escape in the beautiful mix of bright citrus, sweet florals and spicy vanilla.
Fragrance Notes:
Top: Citrus, Melon, Berry
Mid: Osmanthus
Base: Spicy Vanilla, Musk, Woody Notes
First impression… I smelled the top notes the most… citrus, melon and berry with hints of floral. I didn’t really detect any spicy vanilla, musk or woody notes. The overall scents just based off cold sniff smelled like a fresh and fruity citrus with sweet melon. I loved it and couldn’t wait to light this candle up.
Yankee candles are generally on the lighter side for me so I like to burn this brand in small bathrooms – which is where this candle went, my small powder room. Once the wick was lit, it took a good hour or more to reach a full melt pool but… I started smelling the aroma within 10 minutes of lighting the wick which means, this candle gave a pretty decent scent throw.
The aroma… just as it smelled when I first popped off the lid – a fresh and vibrant citrus/melon with lots of sugar. The floral tapers off which I was perfectly fine with leaving a fresh and tart melon aroma I found very bright. I loved it!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a small room. Maybe a 5 in a medium size room. Basically, it’s worth a try in any room you want to burn it in to start and then go from there.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish. I just had to trim the wick before each lighting. Easy peasy.
Closing to my review:
What a great fragrance Pink Sands turned out to be and I can’t believe how long it took me to try this fragrance. I love sweet melon scents so it’s no wonder I enjoyed every second of this one. Yankee’s large jars burn really slow so I was able to enjoy this candle a good two weeks solid. You definitely get your money’s worth buying their large jars, that’s for sure.
Now for the big question… where to buy Pink Sands you ask? Why, head on over to your closest Walmart Supercenter. Can’t get any more convenient than that.
Happy candle hunting!
