Lemongrass WoodWick Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Wood Wick
Type: 22oz candle
Scent Strength: Medium
First impression of Lemongrass:
Mmmm! I can never get enough of the scent lemongrass and Wood Wick’s version smelled pretty fresh and wonderful. This specific fragrance from Wood Wick has been around for awhile but it truly never gets tiring. Not for me anyway.
Here is the scent description for this fragrance:
The fresh scents of sweet grass with hints of bright lemon zest.
First impression… the wax didn’t smell like a classic lemongrass I’m accustomed to. Wood Wick’s version smelled sweeter with hints of green notes so the scent description totally matched what I was smelling. 100%. Have to add, my fourteen-year-old had to put his two cents in as well. He smelled the wax and crinkled his nose and said it smelled like soap. I quote – “soap at a doctor’s office.” I laughed and shook my head. When it comes to bakery or sweet scents, he’s usually on key but boy was he wrong with this one.
Okay, time to light my candle!
Wood Wick candles tend to be on the lighter side for me so I lit this candle in a small room for maximum scent throw. The T wick lit right up and boy did it crackle and blow as it burned, right from the start. The sound literally reminds me of a crackling blow torch and it’s pretty cool. The aroma… it smelled just as it did on cold sniff.. sweet grass with fresh lemon zest. To me, the sweet grass stood out the most. The lemon was there but it was definitely in the background, just as the description indicates.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 10 out of 10 in a small room. 5 in a medium maybe. I didn’t test that so it’s just a guess.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect! Zero wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
I really enjoyed Wood Wicks version of Lemongrass and could totally see myself purchasing this one again. As I stated earlier, it did not smell like the classic lemongrass I’m used to and I actually liked that. It’s always fun to try something different and with the added crackling sounds of the wood wick, it was definitely a fun experience all around.
