First impression of Crema di Lavanda:
This marks my third review of the luxury brand Unearthed by Candleberry and I must say… I am super impressed so far. My last review was a bakery scent called Confectio, which may go down as one of my favorite bakery scents of all time. I loved it! Review here, if you care to read it. Once I finished that candle, I wanted more and the next fragrance that caught my attention was Crema di Lavanda.
I’m not normally a fan of floral scents but I do love lavender. It has such a fresh and herbal vibe to it and it’s generally not overpowering like many other florals can be. I like it alone or blended and when I say “blended,” the possibilities are endless. Crema di Lavanda smelled absolutely beautiful and unmistakably floral. This wasn’t your average lavender scent either.
Here is the scent description for Crema di Lavanda:
A clean and luxurious fragrance of French Lavender interwoven with a smooth and creamy Madagascar vanilla.
Smelling the wax, I think there is much more to this scent that simply lavender and vanilla. The wax smelled powdery more than herbal. It smelled like (what I would imagine) an elegant French boudoir would smell like. Very feminine, sophisticated and classy. Fresh and elegant. And another thing… this candle just on cold sniff was very strong! I had this candle sitting on my coffee table unlit with the lid off and it was fragrancing the entire room all by itself. That’s a pretty big wow!
Okay, loved… now let’s see how this candle performs!
I lit my Crema di Lavanda candle in my master bedroom and what a perfect setting it turned out to be. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 3 hours to reach a full melt pool but the aroma was present long before that and boy did this fragrance fill my bedroom. The aroma… a soft lavender with powdery notes, just as it smelled on cold sniff. Call me crazy but it kind of reminded me of lavender and baby powder. This was a very different lavender vanilla blend and I actually liked that because it was so different. The powdery notes dominated with lavender a soft element in the background. I found it very soothing and fresh. Also want to point out, my husband didn’t mind this one at all. I say that because he never once commented on it and I had this candle burning a solid week in our bedroom. That tells you the quality of the fragrance. Had it been an overpowering floral, he would have (without a doubt) let me know. 😊
Strength – I would rate Crema di Lavanda an 8 out of 10 in a very large room. 10 in medium to smaller rooms. Even though it wasn’t a 10, the strength was actually perfect in a large room. The fragrance was everywhere but not overpowering. When it comes to floral scents, I consider that a plus. Now in medium to smaller rooms, it will be a knock-your-socks-off scent, no doubt.
How did my Crema di Lavanda candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. The wick lit right up, the candle achieved a full melt pool and it burned evenly from beginning to end. Bonus, this candle burned long and slow so you definitely get your money’s worth out of this specific candle and size.
Closing to my review:
Crema di Lavanda was a fresh and powdery lavender I recommend to all floral lovers. If however you’re after the herbal type of lavender, this fragrance may disappoint. Crema di Lavanda was very soft and powdery, like a lavender perfumed powder you dab on your face and body. I keep thinking of a French perfumery when I smell this one… very elegant and posh.
Definitely check this fragrance out if you love floral/feminine scents. Unearthed has pulled me in once more and can’t wait to try more fragrances from this company.
Happy candle hunting!
