Introduction to my Ambre Tubereuse candle:
This is my second candle from Bijou and concludes my reviews of this company… at least for now anyway. I’m so impressed, I do foresee an order in the near future. I don’t think I’ll be able to help myself.
Until then and up next… Amber Tubereuse which Bijou sent as a refill candle to use after I finished Bois de Vanille. (link to Bois de Vanille review here) in case you missed it. I don’t know about you but I think the refills they offer are such a great idea. You purchase their gorgeous candle once and from then on, you clean out the vessel when the candle is finished and purchase refills at half the price. I love that!
The refill I received was wrapped in decorative gray and pink peacock paper with a Bijou label holding it together. Very simple and nicely done. Instructions on how to clean out your candle are included with every candle so it was a piece of cake cleaning mine out. Once I was ready, I popped the refill right into the base I have (which fit perfectly) and wallah, new candle!
Now it’s time to talk about the fragrance…. Amber Tubereuse smelled amazing. It had so much going on… it was fresh and clean with citrus notes and even hints of floral which I found interesting. It was gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to light it up. If the strength was anything like Bois de Vanille, I knew I would be in heaven.
Here is the scent description for Ambre Tubereuse:
Bright and clean mandarin zest complements exotic tuberose and deep amber. Complex notes of rosemary, neroli, petitgrain, sandalwood, oakmoss and musk finish off this feminine and relaxing bedroom scent.
Mmm!! That sounds amazing. This fragrance wasn’t as sultry as Bois de Vanille but it was equally as beautiful for different reasons. The description has so many elements so I couldn’t wait to see what my nose would detect once the candle was burning.
Time to find out!
I lit Amber Tubereuse in a large bedroom where it stayed from beginning to end. It took a few hours to reach a full melt pool and as with the first candle I burned… it started out sketchy where I thought the candle would tunnel but it did eventually right itself with time for a perfect burn. The scent…. FRESH!! The element I picked up the most … mandarin. So much was going on with this fragrance, I couldn’t make out a single element in the description aside from that one. It was all blended together so perfectly. Overall, the fragrance was simply vibrant, fresh and very clean. A wonderful spring and summer scent. Loved it!!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8. It wasn’t mega strong but gave a nice and steady medium scent throw. It was lovely.
My candle burned great. The beginning threw me once again thinking it would tunnel but it eventually righted itself and burned perfectly to the end.
Closing to my review:
I loved Amber Tubereuse and would absolutely burn it again given the chance. If you love fresh spring scents… remember the candle called Amber Tubereuse from Bijou – it was pretty spectacular.
In closing, if you love luxury brands and elegance is a main ingredient to your candle, I highly recommend this company. My experience bordered on perfect.
Happy candle hunting!
