Milk – Soy Logic Apothecary Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Soy Logic Apothecary
Type: Small Hex Candle
Scent Strength: Medium
First impression of Milk from Soy Logic:
I purchased Milk from Soy Logic on Zulily of all places. I was browsing for clothes and saw a huge page filled with scented candles and ended up purchasing two from Soy Logic to review. Zulily had a smoking deal, basically half off their normal price. I couldn’t resist.
Milk sounded interesting and because of its name, I imagined a warm vanilla scent or maybe a simple but perfect sweet cream aroma. That’s what I was hoping for. I was completely blind with this one too. No scent description on Zulily nor on the website that sells Soy Logic candles. So, I’ll do my best to describe this one for you. 😊
I received my candle within two weeks of placing my order and Milk was the first candle I opened up to smell. The candle itself was small and simple. The vessel, a thick hex jar with a loose fitting black tin lid with one well centered wooden wick. The aroma… it smelled sophisticated, like a sweet cream with amber or creamy sandalwood blended with it. This scent wasn’t quite bakery… it was more elegant and sensual. I was intrigued.
Time to light my candle!
Because this candle was so small, I stuck to a super small room to burn it in – my powder room. Once the wooden wick was lit, it crackled and popped the moment the flame took hold and soon after… a delicious aroma of sweet cream and what I truly think was amber blended with it. It smelled SO GOOD!! It was sweet and creamy but also elegant and romantic. I absolutely LOVED it!!
Strength – my Milk candle performed very well in a small room and I would rate it an 8 out of 10 in a small room. If you want to scent a larger space, I would go for a larger size candle.
How did my Milk candle burn?
This candle struggled a little bit. The first time I lit the wick, it ignited pretty quickly and then a few hours in, the flame extinguished on its own. It took some TLC to relight it and get it to stay lit. Once it did, it burned fine. Wood Wicks can do that from time to time. When and if it happens, don’t give up. Keep trying.
Closing to my review:
I enjoyed the heck out of Milk from Soy Logic and would totally purchase this fragrance again, only next time, I think I’ll go for a much bigger candle.
If you love creamy and sophisticated scents, Milk was pretty awesome. Just imagine the sweetest cream with a touch of amber or sandalwood. The aroma was gorgeous not only floating through a room but a wearable scent as well. I could totally imagine this one on me as a body lotion or spray.
Soy Logic candles are found on the site Couture Brands, if you’re interested in checking them out. This little hex candle I reviewed was small so I think I may have to try a larger size next time. I’m definitely going back and getting Milk again. I loved it that much.
Happy candle hunting!
