First impression of Hershey’s S’mores candle:
Mmm… chocolate!! Who doesn’t have memories making s’mores by a campfire? I know I do, it’s almost a tradition in my family and oh my goodness are they good… licking your sticky fingers with marshmallow goo before squeezing one in between a graham cracker and a hunk of Hershey’s chocolate. YUM!!
When I was browsing Candlemart’s website trying to decide what I wanted to review, Hershey’s S’mores jumped out at me and I knew I had to review this one. – – The candle itself totally matched the fragrance. It was layered in three colors – chocolate brown, tan and then ivory white. The perfect colors to match the chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow. The wick was a wood wick which was a bonus and an extra treat to hear the sound effects once burning.
Here is the scent description for Hershey’s S’mores:
Warm sweet vanilla cream and toasted marshmallows, drizzled with rich dark chocolate on a fresh baked graham cracker.
Time to light my candle!
I decided to stick to a small room to burn this candle in… I was after maximum scent throw with this candle and definitely achieved that in a smaller room. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 30 minutes to reach a full melt pool and from then on out… sweet chocolate and graham cracker filled my powder room and it was pretty delicious. The marshmallow was a little harder to detect once burning but I’m sure it was there. The overall aroma was a nice and sweet bakery with the graham crackers standing out the most. I liked it.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 6 in a small room. It was definitely a subtle fragrance so a small room would be ideal that if you’re after a nice aroma.
This candle burned pretty good. The wick lit right up and stayed true throughout the life of the candle. It burned clean and even as well.
Closing to my review:
Hershey’s S’mores was an enjoyable bakery scent and one I would purchase again. The aroma reminded me of graham crackers with a hint of chocolate. Yummy! My only wish would be the strength… if it could be a tad stronger, I’d be in heaven. Oh and before I forget… this candle was only $5 dollars!! That’s what I love about Candlemart… every candle is reasonably priced.
Hanna’s Candle Co is the official manufacturer of Hershey’s chocolate fragrances so there are a lot more scents I’ll be reviewing down the road. Peppermint Patty and Almond Joy are the next two scents I’ll be working on. I bought those scents in melt form so the strength should be much stronger. Melts tend to always be more potent than candles and I can’t wait to test that theory!
Until then….. Happy candle hunting!
