First impression of White Pumpkin:
It’s Fall and that means pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkin candles. We’re all inundated with them, aren’t we? The first month or two, I don’t mind… that’s when I overdose on everything pumpkin and 1803 Candles had some really good ones to choose from. The moment I smelled White Pumpkin, I instantly fell in love. Why? Because this wasn’t your average pumpkin scent. It smelled like cake that was loaded, and I mean loaded with what I could swear was maple syrup. It smelled amazing!
Here is the scent description from 1803’s website:
White Pumpkin is a warm, buttery maple scent topped with a fluffy whipped cream and toasted coconut scent. This inspiring, heart-warming fragrance is truly a scent of Simpler Times Renewed®.
HA!! I was right! I knew I smelled maple syrup and folks, it smells mouthwatering. Fluffy whipped cream? That must be the cake I’m smelling. Actually, up close, it smelled like maple and buttercream frosting. So sweet and scrumptious. A scent you’ll be tempted to eat with a tall glass of milk. I found it very sweet but still warm and inviting.
Okay, time to light this beauty up!
I decided to stay conservative and light this candle in a small room. I wanted maximum scent throw and definitely got that in a smaller room. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 30 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the scent…. Mmmm!! Maple and buttercream frosting all the way!! Very sweet, warm and 100% edible. The maple component is loud and clear, which was nice, but the fluffy whipped cream they describe in the description really adds a warm and almost soft element to it. I never did smell coconut which I would have liked but oh well…. This scent was still pretty perfect just as it was. Two thumbs up!
Strength – this candle wasn’t terribly strong and would rate it a 6 out of 10 in a small room. So, if you want to go larger, I would try two candles at once or go for their scented melts which tend to be much stronger.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish. As far as wick maintenance went, one trim a day before each lighting did the trick.
Closing to my review:
Bakery lovers… White Pumpkins from 1803 Candles was pretty delectable and one I do recommend if you love sweet bakery scents. Just imagine sweet maple syrup with swirls of buttercream frosting throughout. YUM!! I loved it – from beginning to end. The only downside… this candle was on the lighter side but again, go for melts if you’re after strength.
Happy candle hunting!
