Intro to My Review of 2 Christmas Candles from Aroma Naturals…
For my second Christmas review, I’ve decided to talk about the coolest candles I found from a company called Aroma Naturals. Aroma Naturals is my all-time favorite aromatherapy soy candle brand. Their candles are basically as natural as you can get except for a little bit of wax colorant they use here and there. I’m such a sucker for an all natural candle…I feel like it’s much healthier for me and my family.
I haven’t written on Aroma Naturals until now, so I’m very excited to introduce you to them. If you’ve never tried an aromatherapy candle before or have in the past and weren’t happy with them, I’m here to convince you to TRY THE CANDLES you’re about to become aquainted with in this review. If the scents sound interesting to you, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
A few weekends ago, I was food shopping in my local Wholefoods store with my mom. When I was done piling my groceries in the cart, I had to swing by their selection of candles to see what they had for this exciting time of year. I was busy sniffing away when my enthused mother stuck a votive under my nose and said…”Smell this…it’s called Wish…It’s Peppermint and Vanilla!” It was SO strong for a votive. I instantly fell in love and asked, “WOW…what brand is that?” My mom uttered…some company called Aroma Naturals. I was thrilled to hear it was from my trusty old aromatherapy friend. I made a b-line for their display.
I was so excited to find this scent Wish because I was looking for the “best of the best” of Christmas scents to review and for my nose, this one fit the bill. I wanted to get something bigger than a votive to review though because I loved the scent so much. The Aroma Naturals holiday display had votives, pillars and candle tins. I don’t normally like to burn pillars and since candle tins are one of my favorite types of candles, I grabbed one. The tin was only 4 ounces…pretty small, but I didn’t have tons of money to throw around so I thought I’d see how this little tin would perform.
After I threw the Wish candle in my cart, I looked to see what the other 2 holiday scents were on the Aroma Naturals display. One was called Evergreen and the other was called Peace. I’m not much of a pine scent fan, so I picked up a Peace tin to see what the ingredients were. The label said Orange, Clove and Cinnamon. It smelled pretty good. I didn’t like it as much as Wish, but I knew it would make a nice addition to our list of diverse seasonal scents up for review, so I bought it.
What did my candles from Aroma Naturals look like?
You can see my candles in the picture to the left. I think my 4 oz. tins have the most festive looking Christmas labels on the lids…I just love them. The label on my Wish candle (on the right) is red with white stripes…I’m sure it represents candy canes since that favorite holiday treat tastes like peppermint. The label on my Peace candle tin (to the left) is more of a pinkish shade of red with white snowflakes. Besides the sniff test in the store, I really wanted to review these candles because they looked so Christmasy! Speaking of Christmas, the wax color of Wish is pure white, just like snow and the wax color of Peace is bright ruby red.
What did My Aroma Natural candles smell Like?
Aaahhh… I’ve found a new favorite. The combination of natural cooling peppermint and comforting vanilla in this candle creates the most heavenly smelling air I think I’ve ever enjoyed in my home. It’s fresh, airy and reviving and seems to create some sort of angelic atmosphere in my home…you have to try it to understand. This scent is SO refreshing and soothing to my spirit. I think the fact that it’s aromatherapy is why I feel so affected by this candle since essential oils are known to have a positive affect on the mind. I think it’s also just from the combination of peppermint with vanilla…it’s awesome!
Anyway, the peppermint in Wish is cooling to my lungs, which I love, but it doesn’t give off an overwhelmingly cool feel like some peppermint candles can. Why? I think the vanilla really grounds the peppermint and provides a smooth, comforting feel to the scent.
Wish is SO Christmasy to me. It reminds me of candy canes and snow and jingle bells. I’m getting sad because the wax in my Wish tin is getting so low I think I’ve just about used it all up. I can’t run out of this scent around Christmas or anytime of the year for that matter!…I need to stock up.
I guarantee if you try this candle, you will NOT be disappointed. I don’t think the folks at Aroma Naturals could’ve come up with a more appropriate name for this scent. My WISH for the perfect Christmas candle scent has come true! Each time I lit this candle, I fell even more in love with it than I was before. I just kept breathing it in deep because I couldn’t get enough. I love when that happens with a candle, don’t you? It makes me feel like I found a buried treasure or something! (I know…I’m a candle nut.)
My Review of Aroma Naturals “Peace” Christmas Candle…
I didn’t like this scent as much as my Wish candle, but ONLY because I’m not a big fan of candles that smell spicy. I’m more of a fruit and bakery fan. If you’re a spice fan though and enjoy fruity scents too, I think this may be the perfect scent for you this Christmas season. It smells just like warm spicy orange tea to me.
Just like Wish, the smell of Peace goes great with the holiday season. Here’s the scent description of Peace from the Aroma Naturals web site:
“A traditional holiday favorite. Sweet uplifting Orange, revitalizing Clove and spicy Cinnamon fills your home with comfort and warmth.”
Peace smells VERY traditional to me…it created a totally different vibe in my home compared to my refreshing Wish candle. It has more of a time-honored, down-home feel to it. It reminded me of an old-fashioned country Christmas in an old farm house with creaky floor boards when people used to decorate with dried fruit and cloves.
If you like to decorate your home with a country flair and prefer the traditional things in life, I’m guessing you would really enjoy the smell of this enduring scent.
Since I’m a fruit fan, the orange was obviously my favorite part of Peace. It was so uplifting to me, but I was wishing the spices would go away so I could totally enjoy the wonderful smell of pure oranges. 🙂 I have to go check the Aroma Naturals web site to see if they have a pure orange aromatherapy candle…I think I’ve overdosed on the spicy, fall, winter scents for now. 🙂 I miss my fruity scents!
How did my candles from Aroma Naturals Burn?
Both of my candles burned VERY clean and even. No soot at all…I LOVE soy!
Overall opinion of my Wish and Peace candles from Aroma Naturals…
If you’ve never tried an aromatherapy candle before, I think it’s time you step out of the box. To start you off on the right foot, I highly recommend you try these fabulous holiday candles from Aroma Naturals. They smell soooo good, have fabulous scent throws and really enhance the holiday feeling in my home. If you’re into the smell of pine, I’m sure the Evergreen candle that Aroma Naturals offers is great as well…just going off of what I experienced from my two candles of course.
I love candles made with normal fragrance oil just as much as the next candle lover, but there’s something so soothing and tranquil about the smell of aromatherapy candles…especially from Aroma Naturals. Every time I burn one and breathe in the soothing scents, I feel invigorated and more at peace with myself and the world around me. Give some candles from Aroma Naturals a try or give some of their soothing candles to a friend who needs some de-stressing this holiday season. I noticed on the Aroma Naturals web site that they do sell candle gift sets for the holidays…I’m thinking of getting one for myself!
Here’s to a soothing and peaceful holiday!
