Fresh Fruit Pizza Paula Deen Candle Review

Type: 12oz mason jar
Fragrance: Fresh Fruit Pizza
Scent Strength: Light
First impression of Fresh Fruit Pizza:
I purchased this Fresh Fruit Pizza (Paula Deen) mason jar from Big Lots, a store that seems to carry quite a bit of Paula Deen candles. I’m not sure this brand of candles is still being manufactured but every time I’ve gone into a Big Lots store, they have a ton of them so… I’ll keep reviewing them.
I don’t have a scent description to post with this review but let me tell you what I imagined and then what the wax actually smelled like. A classis fruit pizza is a sugar cookie base (That’s the dough) – then cream cheese, powdered sugar and whipped cream blended together as the center/sauce. Then the top layer is an array of sweet fruits all sliced up and layered as the topping. Strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, blackberries etc…. That’s what I imagined. A warm sugar cookie base with whipped cream and different fruits mingled in between. YUM!!!!!
What I actually smelled was quite a bit different. The wax (to me) smelled like an effervescent fruity soda pop and I honestly couldn’t tell you what fruits I smelled in the mix. It was just a bubble kind of seven up smell. I wasn’t too crazy about it but who knows how it will smell once the wick was lit.
Let’s find out!!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the very end. Once the wick was lit, it took a good hour to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… a fresh fruit salad. It actually reminded me of a classic fruit slices kind of aroma. A fun mix of tart and sweet fruity scents. I liked it, I just wish my sugar cookie with whipped cream version would have come to life like I imagined. C’est la vie.
Strength – this candle wasn’t very strong so a small room was perfect to burn it in. I would rate this candle a 5 out of 10 in a really tiny room. Wouldn’t even attempt it in anything larger.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned fine. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
If you see Fruit Pizza from Paula Deen at your local Big Lots, smell one and see what you think. I thought it was a fresh fruity scent and for the price, you may walk away with one.
Happy candle hunting!
