DW Home Candied Pears candle review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: DW Home purchased at Joann’s craft store
Type: 13oz Fall Festival mason jar
Fragrance: Candied Pears
Scent Strength: Lightly scented
First impression of Candied Pears:
Before I begin digging into this review, I wanted to tell you where I found these candles. Joann’s craft store of all places. Who would have thought? I saw them on a display before checking out and ended up purchasing one of each scent to review. They smelled amazing!! All bakery and all yummy!! I’ve already reviewed 2 scents… Home Baked and Pumpkin Patch.
The brand itself is from DW Home. I had to get a magnifying glass to read the label on the bottom of the candle to see that was the manufacturer. Going to their website, they carry a nice line of candles and fragrances but no mason jars… so my guess is they made these specific candles exclusively for Joann’s. That’s just a guess. I’m just glad I found them.
Up next… Candied Pears. This candle has a country feel and so darling. See picture above for visual reference.
I don’t have a scent description to attach to this review but the scent name gives you an idea of what it smells like. When I smelled the wax… I detected a sweet pear with a caramel sugared glaze. Very warm and yummy.
Time to find out how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in a small powder room. Once lit, it didn’t take long to reach and full melt pool and once it did…. zero aroma. Zero. If I put my nose right up to the wax, I could smell a sweet caramelized pear that smelled amazing but that’s it.
Total bummer!!
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned fine. No wick issues. Clean and even burn.
Closing to my review:
This review started out promising and ended in disappointment which was sad. The scent itself was sweet and delicious and I loved it. The bummer… there was no scent throw. At all.
Oh well…. you win some, you lose some right?
Happy candle hunting!
