Introduction to my review:
Boy… when it rains, it pours. I went from having zero Yankee candles in my arsenal to an endless supply… and all thanks to their incredible sales they’ve been running lately. Who can resist buy 6 large candles for $60 bucks? STEAL!!!! I can’t even resist their medium jars for $10… for a $25 dollar candle? Oh yeah – come to momma!!
With so many scents to choose from that all sound tempting – it makes it hard deciding what to review first so I’m just randomly picking one. Campfire Treat won this round… A delectable scent of gooey marshmallows roasting on an open flame. Mmmmm!!!!!
What did my Campfire Treat candle look like?
This candle was their medium 14.5oz single wicked classic jar. The wax color a pure snowy white. The label on the front of the jar shows two big marshmallows on a stick roasting over an open campfire.
What did my Campfire Treat candle smell like?
First sniff… this was an interesting scent… I could smell sweet marshmallows but I could also smell wood smoke. Scent description from Yankee’s site:
“The shared experiences of childhood resonate powerfully in this fragrance that remarkably captures all the sugary notes of a marshmallow toasted to gooey perfection. You’ll almost hear the laughter and singing, and feel the joy of a night around the campfire with family friends. But there’ll be no need to lick the sticky remains from your fingers!”
That’s a great description. I have very distinctive memories of roasting marshmallows around a campfire and I have to admit, the wood smoke I kept smelling threw me a little. I think because I naturally visualize the *taste* of roasted marshmallows, not the campfire smell. Don’t get me wrong, it still smelled great… just not what I expected. The smoky notes dominated this scent and once this candle was burning awhile… the marshmallow kind of took the back burner. This scent was all wood smoke to me with teeny hints of sweetness.
Strength? On the scale of 1 to 10, this was maybe a 5. It gave a light but steady scent throw. I had it burning in a small powder room and I could smell it quite clearly but in a larger room… the scent would be lost. Keep that in mind should you have an inkling to try this scent.
How did my Yankee candle burn?
My candle burned pretty good. It took hours to get a full melt pool and once it did, it burned clean with no wasted wax. My favorite part about this candle… the wax was almost a translucent white so the entire candle glowed while burning, especially at night. It was so pretty.
Closing to my review:
All in all, this was a pretty good experience. Not sure I liked this scent enough to buy it again but it wasn’t bad… just not what I expected. If you enjoy outdoors’y type scents and are looking to try something different and happen to be around a Yankee store, it might be worth a trip.
One positive about Yankee candles… they burn a loooooooong time. So when you purchase one on sale, you definitely get your money’s worth. This candle lasted me well over a week and that was burning it every day, all day.
Happy candle hunting!

I love this fragrance and had a different experience. I mostly smell wood notes but I like that type of scent.
I had a different experience. I thought it smelled exactly like marshmallows at a camp fire.
