What did my candle smell like?
It was hard not getting excited at receiving Caipirinha Lime, a Votivo candle from Candles Off Main. I love this luxury brand, namely for their exotic and world renowned fragrances not to mention their stunning vessels and packaging. Presentation is such a huge part of luxury candles and Votivo definitely presents a stunning product. When I received Caipirinha Lime and took off the lid to the thick kraft box it was nestled in… an exotic and almost spicy aroma wafted all around me. This brand never disappoints when it comes to complex fragrances and I could already tell this would not be a simple lime or citrus scent.
Scent description for Caipirinha Lime:
Upbeat and dripping with flavor, Votivo’s Caipirinha Lime pays tribute to Brazil’s pulsating culture, lush landscape and delectable libations. Equally zesty and sweet, the fragrance opens with tart citrus and lime shavings interspersed with mint sprigs and muddled sugar cane. In hot pursuit, a salty breeze ensues carrying the scent of tropical Tiare flowers and Ylang-Ylang. A rich garnish of coconut, amber and island spice caps the fragrance in savory delight.
That is quite the scent description and definitely helpful to read when smelling this candle. I also tried my best to see if my nose could pick up on everything I read and so far based off cold sniff… I detected a little bit of floral, amber and island spice with hints of lime. The overall scent was 100% unique and who knows what notes would come to life once the candle was burning…
Time to find out!
I lit this candle in a small room to start out and ended up keeping it there from start to finish. I wanted maximum scent throw and definitely got it burning this candle in a smaller room. Once the wick was lit, it look a good ten minutes for the aroma to start traveling throughout the room and oh my goodness, once it did….. an exotic spicy lime scent filled the space. It was hard to describe but what I could smell was amber, spice, with hints of coconut and lime. It was very different, and on the masculine side. I loved every second of it.
Strength – this candle was lightly scented for me. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 6 in a small room. Not sure I would attempt burning it in a larger room unless you’re burning two or more.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. The wick lit right up with each lighting and burned clean from start to finish. Another bonus, this candle burned very slowly so it lasted much longer than I expected.
Closing to my review:
I loved Caipirinha Lime and recommend it to all those in search of something exotic with a citrus and masculine twist. This definitely was not your average lime scent and I liked that. When trying luxury brands, I expect the bar to be raised and this fragrance definitely delivered.

This candle sounds like a scent I would for sure would be interested it. The only issue I would have in purchasing this candle is the light scent the throw especially since I tend to burn candles in larger rooms in my home. Unfortunately this will be a pass for me.
