First impression of Buttercream Vanilla from Swan Creek:
I love buttercream fragrances but really good ones are hard to find. The majority I’ve tried can take on a synthetic kind of chemically smell which ruins the whole vibe of the scent for me. Swan Creek’s version was pretty good. When I popped off the lid to smell the wax, a sweet and sugary vanilla aroma wafted all around me and it smelled quite realistic. I even let it sit next to me (lid off) and the aroma intensified. All I could smell was a sugary and sweet buttercream. Nothing synthetic about it. I’m impressed.

Custard? I wasn’t expecting that but okay… I can see that. The true test will be melting the wax. Which happens right now!
Melting Buttercream Vanilla from Swan Creek:
Before I get to melting, I want to point out, Swan Creek added some wood chipped embellishments to the wax I wasn’t crazy about. Just to be clear… I’m not generally a fan of embellishments in wax because it’s messy to clean. That includes glitter, sugar sprinkles and mica coloring. Yeah, it looks pretty but it’s still a big resounding no for me, LOL! So, I picked out the wood chips with a frown as best I could before throwing two cubes in my electric melters. Once melting, it took a good hour to really start noticing the scent and the reason being for that… the aroma was very subtle. With my nose right up to the melters, the fragrance kind of smelled chemically but once moving through the room, a light and sweet sugary buttercream drifted through the air. It smelled very realistic and yummy… just super light. That was the only bummer.
Strength – I would rate this scent a 5 out of 10 in a really large room. 8 in a medium size room. I did test that out to verify so if you give this scent a go, stick to medium or small rooms for the best scent throw.
All in all, I loved the scent. It smelled very realistic and one of the best buttercream scents I’ve smelled. It was just very, VERY lightly scented.
