Fragrance: Brandied Pears

Scent Strength: Medium

First impression of Brandied Pears:

Madison Valley sent me several candles to review and I decided to save my favorite for last. I often ask myself why I do that… save the best for last? It’s simple… I’m weird! I like savoring my favorites for as long as possible and this candle smelled positively delicious.

Here is the scent description for Brandied Pears:

A sweet indulgence of juicy pear, cinnamon and aged brandy. A rare balance of natural freshness and mouthwatering sweetness that can be enjoyed in any season.

Nice description. Cold sniff, I couldn’t detect a whole lot of cinnamon. If it was there, it was a teeny sprinkle but who knows what will come to life once the candle is burning. That’s really the true test.

Time to find out!

Madison Valley candles have generally been medium scented for me so it felt safe enough to light this one in my master bedroom. It’s a huge room and if a candle can fill it with fragrance, it’s a winner. Once the wicks were lit, it took about 30 minutes to reach a full melt pool and oh my goodness candle lovers…. Yum!!!!! The strength wasn’t super strong but medium (as expected) and just enough to fill my bedroom. The aroma… ripe pears with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Yep, the cinnamon notes do come out once the candle is burning. It’s subtle but definitely there. Smelling the air, it reminded me of warm glazed pears with cinnamon. A winter dessert you’ll want to consume with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. YUM!!! Picture it and then imagine taking a bite. Oh yes!!

Strength – I would rate Brandied Pears an 8 out of 10 in a large room. 10 in medium to smaller rooms. Great scent throw.

How did my Brandied Pear candle burn?

Great! Wicks lit right up. The candle burned clean and even from beginning to end. Wick trimming was a must before each lighting but that’s pretty normal with all candles these days.

Closing to my review:

Brandied Pear was worth the wait and I’m glad I saved it for last. Pear scents can be difficult to get right in wax. The majority I’ve tried have either been lightly scented or fake. This was one pretty authentic. Maybe it was the added cinnamon that did the trick? Definitely give this candle a try if you love pear fragrances.

Madison Valley won me over yet again and looking forward to trying more of their scents down the road.

Happy candle hunting!
