Intro To My Candle Review
I love bold candle scents, especially this time of the year. The warmth and coziness just seem right once the air begins to chill. I’ve been introduced to a wonderful candle company, Seventh Avenue Apothecary , and I was incredibly excited to try their Tobacco + Vanilla Bourbon candle. If it was half as good as the Frasier Fir & Thyme candle, I knew I would be in for a treat. This is slated as one of their best sellers, which was also encouraging.
First Impressions of My Candle
This was their classic signature jar candle, a full 14 ounces of wax in a sleek jar and recycled kraft paper lid. The candle wax was white and there were two wicks – something I really do like about these candles. It had an understated classiness about it that made me proud to display it out in the main living spaces.
I took a cold sniff and my, oh my…I smelled the deep, thick notes of the bourbon with a slight bit of sweetness. There was a bit of smokiness to the scent, too, that made this scent seem warm and smooth. I was in love! According to the website:

I would certainly call that an accurate scent description. It was that and more. I had a couple of male friends that were at the house at the time, and they both LOVED the scent. I decided to light this candle in my kitchen, which is open to a large, living area. It did not take long for me to start feeling and smelling the warmth of this candle scent – it was warm, cozy, and thick in the air. It was a bold candle scent, but not one that was all up in my face. It permeated the air and seemed to make the whole room feel cozy and just a little sweet.
There was less smokiness with this scent as it continued to burn. It was more of the vanilla bourbon scent with what smelled like a bit of sweet cinnamon swirling around. It was divine! This scent was more of a moderate thrower than my Frasier Fir + Thyme candle. It was still good for the space it was in and everyone around the room enjoyed it.
How Did My Candle Perform?
I think I cut one of my wicks a little too short because initially one of them was just a flicker. I was still able to get a full wax melt pool – it just took a little longer for me than my Frasier Fir + Thyme candle. Once I got the full wax melt pool, the pool was even and fairly deep. It made a really pretty glow while burning. I noticed no black sooting. The candle burned all the way down without any wasted wax on the sides. This was a good, clean burn.
Closing To My Candle Review
I was again impressed with Seventh Avenue Apothecary candles. Tobacco + Vanilla Bourbon was a delicious, bold candle scent that was pleasing to a number of guests in my home, male and female alike. This is something I could see becoming one of my staple scents for the Fall/Winter months. I really can’t wait to try more from this brand.
