Candlefind Says

Bob’s Flower Shoppe is a wonderful floral scented candle with lush, green notes. It smells incredibly authentic and has a strong throw. Even the votive was more fragrant than we expected!

Pros

  • Even, clean burn
  • Long-lasting
  • Great scent throw for a small votive

Cons

  • Price

Bob’s Flower Shoppe from Trapp Fragrances is one of my absolute favorite scents. In fact, it’s one of the best floral scented candles I think you can buy. I have burned the candles and melted the wax melts before, but I had never tried the votive candle. I decided it was high time to change that. I don’t burn a lot of votive candles because I don’t find them fragrant enough for my needs. I do use votives often as wax melts, but I wanted to burn this votive to see if it would hold a candle to the candle. (haha)

Packaging/Presentation

The votives from Trapp are like little presents. This votive came in an individual box with the company name and scent name clearly displayed. Bob’s Flower Shoppe is also known as Fragrance No. 13, and that was on the box as well. The quote, “A bottle of perfume in every candle” was included on the box. Even in the votives? I couldn’t wait to find out!

The votive itself was an off white color and had a fairly long wick. It was a full 2 ounces, so a fairly large sized votive.

Authenticity

On cold sniff, I smelled that familiar smell…a slightly sweet floral fragrance with lush green notes. It smelled so good cold, I couldn’t stop sniffing it! Looking at the full scent description, I found:

Imagine walking into an open air flower market – you are enveloped by the fragrance of all the flowers, freshly cut green stems, and water droplets on each petal.

Trapp

I lit this candle in my votive holder and placed it near me while working. It did not take long to be enveloped by the most realistic and beautiful floral scent I could imagine. The first and most prominent notes to me were the green notes. It was like I could smell the leafy stems, freshly cut. The floral notes were also there – a mix of floral scents that really smelled divine. I couldn’t really pick out one particular floral scent. The floral notes were slightly sweet and perfumey. No headiness at all. Really, the floral notes were more of a secondary thing. This scent was green, green, green and super fresh.

Scent Strength & Scent Throw

I was amazed at how well my one votive scented up the space I was in. I could smell it all throughout the open living area and on down the halls. I had put this votive in a small closet as well, just to see what would happen. It completely enveloped that room, easy peasy. The scent itself was strong without being headache-inducing. Christina reviewed the regularly sized Bob’s Flower Shoppe candle before and was also amazed at the scent strength and throw.

Burn Performance

I trimmed my wick before burning and placed this votive in the pink hobnail glass votive you see above. I had a pretty flawless burn with this candle. I did not notice any black soot coming from the wick. I was able to burn this votive for several hours before blowing it out and trimming the wick again. The stated burn time for this candle is 15-20 hours, and I would say I got close to 20 on this one. I stopped burning it when I could see the metal disc through the melted wax.

Conclusion

Candlefind Editor's Choice

I rarely ever buy votives, but burning the Bob’s Flower Shoppe votive will cause me to change that practice. I’ll forever compare votives to this one, as it was absolutely, positively fantastic. The scent was strong and true and the throw was amazing for such a little candle. I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with this scent and thrilled about the votive. I can’t wait to try more!
