Introduction to my Blueberry Pumpkin Patch review:
I know this candle is now out of season which drives me crazy because I’m not even close to being done burning all my fall/winter candles. It’s only January for heaven’s sake!! I do feel bad I’m so late getting all the fall/winter Bath & Body Works candles up but I’m working on it. My excuse – I’m a little OCD about burning through an entire candle when reviewing it (which takes more time) and just couldn’t get through them all in time to review. Better late than never though…. I also have a feeling most of this seasons Bath & Body Works scents will make comebacks in their stores and site for resale eventually. Most were wildly popular.
Blueberry Pumpkin Patch kind of reluctantly found it’s way into my cart. I’m not a big fan of blueberry but this candle looked so pretty and I loved the idea of pumpkin blended in so figured… what the heck. In my cart it went.
What did my Blueberry Pumpkin Patch candle look like?
This candle was their 14.5oz – 3 wick large candle. The wax color was a pretty smoky blue… the label showing an illustration of ripe blueberries in a bowl with orange and white pumpkins next to it. See picture.
What did my candle smell like?
First sniff… I wasn’t too sure I was going to like this candle. I could smell the strong scent of blueberries but I could also smell something spicy and harsh along with it. Wasn’t sure if that was the pumpkin or not but I didn’t care for that spicy note. Here is the scent description from Bath & Body Works site:
“Blueberries fresh from the farm are the perfect match for ripe pumpkins in this delicious autumn blend.”
I think I’m used to smelling classic pumpkin or pumpkins blended with vanilla or bakery scents. The spicy note blended with blueberries was throwing me off. It didn’t smell sweet or bakery oriented to me. It definitely smelled of fall though.
Once burning… I admit… the scent grew on me. Blueberries dominated for sure with that spicy note subtly in the background. The spice didn’t seem as harsh burning as it did smelling it cold but you could definitely smell it. I found it very unique and unusual. Also want to note, my husband LOVED this candle. He commented on it a few times I had it burning and asked me to get more. He noticed blueberries the most. So…. husband approved scent.
This candle burned perfectly. Even, consistent flames, clean burning… no wasted wax. LOVED!
Closing to my review:
What a unique fragrance this turned out to be. I went in thinking I was going to hate it and ended up enjoying it. Not sure enough to buy it again but enough to appreciate what a unique blueberry scent it was. You’ll know what I mean when you burn this candle. This was not a classic summer blueberry… it was spicy and very different.
If you love blueberry scents… check this one out if you can find it. I’ve seen it listed periodically on Bath & Body Works site.
Happy candle hunting!

I didn’t care for this candle. It smelled strange to me. Like hay and pumpkin with a weird spice. bleh!
