First impression of Bakery Air:
I am never one to resist a bakery scent and Bakery Air from Yankee sounded right up my alley. Who doesn’t love walking into a bakery and smelling all the fresh baked goods? I know I do. Could a candle actually capture that delectable aroma? The scent description for Bakery Air boasts that it can.
Here it is:
It’s as though you just stepped through the doorway of your local bakery–creamy butter swirled with vanilla, chopped pecans, and cinnamon, all baking in the oven deliciously.
Top: Creamy Butter, Maple Extract
Mid: Chopped Pecans, Ground Cinnamon, Crushed Clove
Base: Crystallized Sugar, Vanilla
When I imagine walking into a bakery, I imagine the aroma of cookies, cakes, donuts and pastries. All those yummy doughy vanilla baked smells you want to devour with a tall glass of milk or a steaming cup of coffee. That’s what I was imaging and was hoping to smell with this candle.
First impression… my nose picked up on vanilla, maple, and pecans the most. I didn’t really smell cinnamon or clove. It wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for but it still smelled pretty good and if the scent stays true once burning, I’ll be happy.
Let’s find out!
I lit my Bakery Air candle in a small powder room, my favorite size room to burn Yankee candles in and waited for the magic to begin. I’d say it took a good hour before that began to happen. The aroma… a bakery vanilla cookie with hints of sweet maple – no cinnamon or clove in sight. The overall scent was very bakery, warm and delicious. I liked it quite a bit, so the name is pretty apt. Did it smell like a bakery? Maybe a bakery that just bakes vanilla cookies, lol!!
Strength – I would rate this candle a 7 out of 10 in a really small room, which wasn’t bad at all for a Yankee candle. If you want to go bigger, try two candles at once or melt a tart instead.
How Did My Bakery Air Candle Burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issues other than trimming it before each lighting which is pretty standard. Clean burn from beginning to end.
Closing To My Review:
Bakery Air was a yummy vanilla cookie scent I would recommend to all you cookie or bakery lovers out there. I really did enjoy it and could see myself purchasing this candle again down the road. It’s not super strong as with most Yankee candles but it’s great for smaller rooms or if you prefer lighter aromas. I burn candles in smaller rooms all the time so it all works out. Especially when you catch one of Yankee’s amazing sales. I think I purchased this candle for not even nine dollars. Not bad for a candle that lasts a good two weeks.
Happy candle hunting!
