First impression of Aromabeads from Candlemart:

I’m a huge fan of scented melts so when I saw these cool little Aromabead packs on Candlemart’s website, I nabbed several fragrances to review. The packs contain a full ounce of beads but to my eyes, it seems way more than one ounce. You know what they remind me of? Bean Pod’s soy beads. Oldtimers…do you remember those way back when? Bean Pod is no longer in business but they had the coolest wax beads available in all their scents I used to love. You could melt them as a single scent or they were perfect for blending, and that’s what I wanted to do with these Aromabeads. Blend, blend, BLEND!! I purchased all bakery scents… Iced Cinnamon Buns. Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Oatmeal Cookie Crunch, Caramel Apple Toffee and Warm Butter Cookies to review. YUM!!!! I will have lots of fun blending those!!

Let’s get to it!

What did my Aromabeads smell like on cold sniff?

Iced Cinnamon Buns smelled like a spicy cinnamon more than bakery so I plan on using a subtle amount of that one when blending. Vanilla Frosted Cupcake smelled super yummy! A sweet vanilla cake with a hint of frosting all the way! Caramel Apple Toffee smelled like a caramel apples, heavy on the apple. Another yum! Warm Butter Cookie smelled like a sweet vanilla cookie – I was tempted to eat it. Warm Butter Cookie would be a perfect base for blending. And last but not least was Oatmeal Cookie Crunch. This one smelled like oatmeal cookies all the way, super warm and edible. LOVED!!

Blending time.

AromabeadsMy first concoction I named Butter Cookie Apple Bites. An equal mix of Warm Butter Cookie and Caramel Apple Toffee. The result… a warm apple bakery that smelled like caramel apples with creamy vanilla in the background. It was yummy but I think I’ll use less Caramel Apple Toffee next time so I get more vanilla cookie. That’s the fun aspect of blending… you can take out or add as much as you want to get the right fragrance you’re after.

My next blend I dubbed Oatmeal Cinnamon Munchies. A blend of Oatmeal Cookie Crunch, a hint of Iced Cinnamon Buns and Warm Butter Cookies Aromabeads. The end result… a scrumptious aroma of baked oatmeal and vanilla cookies. I don’t think I put enough cinnamon in the mix to make a difference but what I could smell was super buttery and delicious. I love oatmeal bakery scents and this blend was pretty close to perfect.

Next up… Apple Cookie Snaps. I blended Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Caramel Apple Toffee, Warm Butter Cookie and a hint of Iced Cinnamon Buns. The aroma… a very warm vanilla cake aroma with hints of sweet apple. I think this scent needed more cinnamon and apple which I’ll try next time.

Strength for my Aromabeads – Because I chose all bakery scents, the strength for all the ones I purchased seemed to have a light/medium throw. I’m glad I melted all these in a medium size room. My suggestion is to start melting in a small room and go from there.

Closing to my review:

I had fun melting Aromabeads from Candlemart and definitely plan on purchasing more. I enjoyed all my blends but my favorite was definitely Oatmeal Cinnamon Munchies. It smelled the strongest and was so yummy! Baked oatmeal cookies with hints of warm vanilla. YUM!! The aroma lasted for hours and hours too.

If you love the idea of blending your own fragrances, Aromabeads is a great way to do it. Their one ounce packs are priced at 1.49 per pack but I do see Candlemart now carries 1 pound bags for the avid and serious blender. WOOHOO!!! That’s ME! Lol!

Happy melting!
